Short Bio (280 characters max):
Its’a me, Morphbot - Focused on bringing interoperability and VR development ideas to the space. I believe whole-heartedly that DCL is about decentralization, and enabling the creator community via open source initiatives.

My relevant skills (tags can’t contain my power):
- Full-stack engineer
- Pre & post graduate degree in Computer Science specializing in algorithmic foresight and systems simulations
- More than 5 years of Technical architecture consultation at double-digit Fortune 100/500 companies (2 years specifically on crypto feasibility and technical architecture implementation)
- Crypto since '17
- VTuber & interoperablity researcher
- A bunch more recent stuff but let’s not doxx me too hard.
My involvement with Decentraland:
I properly dove in around 2021, when NFTs were heating up and I was looking into 3D asset ownership, I saw a need for 3D platforms/frameworks, and went out to create a 3D VTuber from assets purchased off the Ethereum marketplace.
This journey brought me quite literally ‘across the metaverse’ and full circle to conclude DCL as the greatest customizable and open avatar platform that exists today, a spark that I’ve tried my best to push on to others, advocating for .VRM and interoperability for the ‘general metaverse’ ever since my first successful DCL avatar export w/ full face tracking and mouth/eye movement (~Feb/March 2022)
Moving on from this technology, I seeked out .VRM compatible experiences, which drove me to my first VR hardware purchase since the Oculus DK1 - As the metaverse was a concept I’ve always loved, but never felt was really within reach - until now.
It was only when I was finally able to put these ideas together, alongside with the original Decentraland vision built on top of JanusVR to one day be an interoperable, web-driven, VR world - that I truly began to understand what Decentraland would be.
My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
There is too much toxic-positivity in the DAO hoping for grants to work out, many people without proof of concepts, or solid real world experience attempt to garner support for ideas that often can be invalidated before they even begin.
I don’t believe the DAO exists to fund startups that are too risky, or too low quality to receive VC investment, and until opportunities that are of a certain quality arrive, we should protect the funds to our best diligence.
Every DAO-printed mana that is sold is a tax to all DCL citizens, investors & users, many of whom have worked tirelessly to provide and contribute to the open source environment and DCL platform - we have a duty to protect the treasury from those that wish to pilfer it for their own income, with no viable plan or intention to help return value that outperforms the investment given.
My 5-year vision for Decentraland:
I see Decentraland as the backend of the metaverse, all of our clients (desktop/browser/VR) are merely interpretations of the DCL data and ecosystem for our users to connect.
Through native technology and platform improvements, we live in a time where the original vision of DCL, being a browser-driven, VR, interoperable metaverse platform is possible - with the right planning and hiring of competent devs who have already built provable concepts implementing these ideas, we can push forward the native metaverse:
-
DCL characters in every game that wishes to implement them, kicking off a wave of personalized VR avatars that causes a flourishing of market activity both for the DAO and the platforms creators, enabling shapekey & jiggle bones improvements to bring the market place to a competitive level.
-
Users interoperably jumping between worlds of various platforms in their VR headset alongside friends, increasing the value of DCL overworld & platform, acting as a place to centralize logic for seamless exploration between even different metaverses!
-
Don’t you wish you could wave your arms around, or talk/hangout with your friends while the actual avatar mouth moves from voice chat, with your eyes/head movement based on where you’re looking and facial micro expressions that make it feel like you are actually IN Decentraland and physically spending time with people?
What do you think is the most important issue in Decentraland?
I believe the DAO simply lacks direction on what the optimal use of funds could be, or what to do with funds during a bearmarket while we lack that direction, we need to have larger conversations about how the DAO can enforce a certain level of impact to ensure grants benefit all DCL users at large.
Given that VR has been removed from the foundation roadmap, it becomes clear that we as a DAO must figure out a legitimate path towards VR implementations within our platform, not just at the interface level, but by supporting native VR interfaces at the platform level that any developers can connect to (such as WebXR).
This concept would not only add great value to our platform, it would unlock a massive number of business use cases and improvements for all metaverse native businesses.
What challenges will we face in the next 12 to 24 months?
The bear market has been rough, after a 90% slide-down in mana it is clear there is a growing concern of what the future holds.
I want to be clear, this is normal procedure in crypto, and while we may want to prepare ourselves for future cycles, we must be very careful about acting rash in a time of such negative average price disparity.
What we can do, is rally together, cut spending, and unify on ideas that will multiply the value of the DCL platform for all involved - That’s why I’m here, even though I hate politics and would much rather be working on my avatar ecosystem.
Addendum: Why you should delegate to me, and my promise of responsibilities to you as a delegatee:
- I will refrain from voting at all on any ‘cultural’ or socially-intended grants that benefit the community fairly, as I lack the ability to fairly assess these and assume that we should be spending a small amount of DAO funds on culture/community driven global events.
- Elsewise, I will vote NO on any proposal that does not directly benefit the platform and bring tangible permanent benefits to the DCL clients, SDK, catalyst nodes, documentation, dev-tools or ecosystem.
- I will vote NO on any proposals that seek to instill a centralized entity to power
- I will vote NO on any proposals that do not pass my technical assessment (From collective scientific post-graduate and business experience)
- I will vote NO on any proposal that seeks to acquire funds for an unproven concept before it has been proven/built to an MVP (Minimum Viable Product).
- I will only vote YES on ideas that directly contribute to the above outlined conceptual ideas about the interoperable and open source metaverse as envisioned and described.
- I will participate and voice why I am voting NO, as I have done so in the past.
- I will not propose or vote YES on any proposals that would cause income/payment to myself
