My involvement with Decentraland:
I have been involved with Decentraland since I joined in November 2021. I helped with builds such as Samsung 837x and Snapple Blockchain Bodega as a member of Last Slice. I also started work on a version of Virtual Land Manager in early 2022, which has since evolved into a tool that helps a number of notable creators and popular locations in the space. I received a grant for VLM in 2023 and have been maintaining it and adding to it ever since.
My reasons for wanting to be a delegate:
I do not have a lot of monetary power, either in this system or the IRL system, but I think I have a diverse enough experience of life to help anyone understand any perspective. I have a hard time telling where exactly truth ends and perspective begins, but I believe that something like truth is found through an honest attempt to understand multiple perspectives.
I’m open minded and respect everyone’s right to be whoever they want to be, up to the point that it is forcing someone else to act or speak in a certain way. I tend to value the rights of the individual over the rights of a collective, but I can also see the value of social cohesion and homogenous belief when it’s voluntary and structured around a perception of reality that easily agreed upon.
My 5-year vision for Decentraland:
I would like to see more businesses coming to Decentraland to be part of our economy and find a niche community of strong support to help them grow. I believe that Decentraland has great potential to be a virtual hub for small businesses, artists, and creators across the world.
What do you think is the most important issue in Decentraland?
I think creating and maintaining a fair system of voting that cannot be bought or corrupted is important. I think we need to put the power in the hands of people who actually create and contribute to Decentraland. Without creators and content, there is no reason to ever come here. So we need to incentivize being a creator in hopes that creators will build our world, and in turn build our economy.
