DESCRIPTION

We believe that there is only one decentralized metaverse that unites all of the platforms, technologies and communities. To emphasize this idea we’ve decided to run the event on two platforms simultaneously, in Decentraland a massive neighborhood would be developed specially for this event and from there you could teleport to a new world in
Arhead to explore even more amazing spaces.

  • huge exhibition space in two metaverse platforms: Decentraland and Arhead

  • architectural competition open to creators with any experience

  • more than 20 pavilions by the creators from all over the world

  • expositions by well-known architects and designers

  • lectures and public talks

  • thousands of amazing people to meet during the event

The event will consist of several pavilions designed by well-known architectural studios such as Zaha Hadid, SpacesDAO, Atrium, Shop, Crosby Studios (TBC) and others as well as emerging designers selected by a contest. In addition to this there will be lectures, discussions, NFT-exhibitions, art-installations and more, so anyone with interest in architecture and design could enjoy the event.

MANIFESTO

We believe that as graphic designers have created the internet we’ve been using for the last decades, the Metaverse would be created by architects and designers.

The tittle of Biennale “Presence of the future” refers to the name of the first Venice Architecture Biennale - one of the greatest events to celebrate architecture and design. "Presence of the past’’ was actually the name of the 1980 Biennale directed by Paolo Portoghesi who has managed to organize an event of global significance bringing together great architects from around the world.

Nowadays, more than forty years later our perception of the world and design approach have changed dramatically, digital design tools became the main instruments and created a totally new language and, some might say, in our society and culture Postmodernism has been replaced by Metamodernism (whatever that means after the word Meta has become a brand).

All in all, “Presence of the future” aims to recall the power of architecture to reinvent the modernity and formulate the new quality of life in the immersive virtual space. In the moment when we are witnessing the creation of a new game-changer in the way we communicate, entertain and collaborate we challenge the architects and designers to envision our future in the built form and take the responsibility for it. We believe that this exhibition would bring the life-changing power of architecture and design to the metaverse and would set up a new positive vector for its development.

SPACE
We are looking for an opportunity to invite Decentraland as the main organizer of the Biennale and discuss the possibility of holding an event at one of the plazas.

Vote on this proposal on the Decentraland DAO

View this proposal on Snapshot

There was not enough space in the proposal form. Here we attach a list of Biennale organizers.

METANCY - team of creative developers based in Metaverse. Creators, developers, Decentraland influencers, owners of 300+ parcels, DAO active members, creative heads and marketing pros.

DEARCH - experimental architecture drew experienced architects to the design for the metaverse, AR and VR spaces. They believe it would create a totally new architectural aesthetic and even a new design industry.

ARHEAD - creators driven platform to produce content, spaces and events for companies in the Metaverse. Platform provide tools to create unique spaces that can be designed and built to provide a variety of engagement mechanics and activities.

why are we requesting a grant from DAO?

We decided to ask DAO for several reasons. First and foremost, we want to make this event global for the entire metaverse and one that will help secure Decentraland as the leading blockchain digital world, which is why we need the official support of Decentraland as the main partner of Architecture Biennale. Secondly, on the way to building such an important thing we do not want to depend only on paid sponsorship and commercials, so we ask the DAO for a grant that would cover the costs of a serious work related to event development both at the organization level and at the level of 3D modeling and SDK dev. This request is not in vain posted in the community category because the biennale is directly aimed at developing the metaverse community, generating discussion in it and motivating Creators to create, which is most importantly. That’s why we really need feedback from you - anyone who is reading this now!

Thanks for your grant proposal. I have a few questions:

  1. @Metancy can you share your relationship with the Metatrekkers? This question is relevant because I see you have retweeted their tweets and also have voted yes on their proposals. I am asking for transparency purposes because I have a feeling they will be voting on your proposal.
  2. Are you promising this amount below?

Are you aware of the numbers seen at this past Metaverse Music Festival? Are you claiming this is how many visitors you are planning to see at your event?
3. When going to Metancy’s parcel, I am not seeing any current architecture in Decentraland. Is there a reason for this?
4. Can you share what the $20k is going to be used for the “participants?”
5. This question is in regards to the quote below: How is this event going to create a user experience that is going to keep these 50,000 visitors using Decentraland in the future? Or is this going to be a 1 time thing?

Hey @Tudamoon ! Thank you for your questions and interest.

  1. We are familiar with Metatrekkers after the Dj battle beattrekkers stage took place in our club Metancy pool -49;73, and our CPO Rick was a co-host of the semi-final of the battle. In our opinion, the metatrekkers team is one of the most actively promoting Decentraland at moment. It is important that they bring new people for example by attracting an audience of artists. We support their proposals because we can be sure that they will bring the projects to the end and have already proved it. We don’t know if they will vote under this proposal.
  2. This amount based on average values of previous events and on media opportunities, subscribers of invited well known architects etc. Yes we’ve been tracking amount of visitors at MMF, it’s way worse than 2021 but still 5-digit amount during the festival. Next thing that the Architect Biennale is a totally new format which can possibly make hype like MWFW. So no one checked the engagement of architecture community for metaverse.
  3. We own a lot of parcels, some of them are empty =) check -1;120 and -49;73 for some meta architecture by Metancy
  4. This is described in “open call for participants” - “finalists projects realisation All finalists are guaranteed to receive a grant from the organizers to produce the final spaces for the event”. We don’t want to make Biennale in the way of competition for prizes and leaderboards, rather a joint creation, so grants seem like a great solution.
  5. Here we are talking about the fact that visitors will share content due to its uniqueness and quality. Amount of 50,000 repeats your second question.

Yeah MetaverseRick has been voting on all of Metatrekkers’ proposals and it shows they have been working quite well together in the Russian Decentraland Telegram group. Are you saying your CPO Metaverse Rick doesn’t know if Chris Metatrekkers is going to vote on this? So it will be mere coincidental if Metatrekkers does vote on this?

this is a cool idea! there have been a lot of people recently talking about the possibilities for real-world architecture and design applications in the metaverse and a biennale is a great way to make that happen.

that being said, what is your current relationship with the architecture firms you mentioned? do you have a reason to believe they will participate?

What is your experience with organizing an event like this?

Hey @dax Thank you for your response, we believe that Biennale will show everybody a huge role of architects in the way of building Metaverse.

Good question. Main architectural curator of event is Dearch.space, their owner is art director an architect of ATRIUM studio at the same time which is old and well known architect company. So, they have direct communication with the most of mentioned studios, than we have not only a reason, but have several of them approved and continue to discuss.

Metancy team is responsible for everything that concerns developing, modelling and shilling in Decentraland and we have needed experience. Here is some deck to show METANCY DECK DCL.pdf - Google Drive

What about architectural events in Metaverse - Dearch and Arhead got a great project together - deip space, take a look https://deip.spaces.arhead.io/

Not right @Tudamoon , we dont work together in the Ru speaking group, because Ru speaking telegram group is a project opened and managing by Metancy and Chris has nothing to do with it except that we announced beattrekkers.

Any DAO member can vote on any proposal and no one of us conspired to vote. If you have a questions about Biennale please ask. We don’t understand how the previous question relates to the proposal.

I believe your numbers are very enthusiastic. I don’t see the Hype around Arhead to be requesting the amount of grant proposed necessary. There are currently other grants enacted that would change the paradigm of this proposed event in the coming future. Approving this event now before any present grant proposal has finished its grant appears irrelevant. There is also currently a Builder Competition for DCL creators currently enacted.

Hey @Alwayschill ! Thank u for response. Can you please share a links of grants you’re talking about and explain how it can change a paradigm of Biennale?

DCL builder competition is something very different than we do. It’s mostly for current DCL creators but we will attract definitely new names into Decentraland. Second reason is that builder competition is something like hackathon behind a scenes, but our goal is to make cultural public event for DCL community and new people being attracted.

@Metancy Yeah this must be a coincidence that with his first message on the chat, you told him you will describe the Metatrekkers for him to everyone in Russian. (This implies this is not your first conversation since you already know about it)

Right here, Chris seems to think you are collaborating…

Let me guess Metaverse Rick’s Voting history is irrelevant also? No quid pro quo here?

Hey @Tudamoon ! It’s Metaverse Rick from Metancy.

I don’t know why I have to justify myself and the main thing is what. So, I see screenshots, I remember all of it. Then please explain to me what you are accusing me of and what this pics going to proof.

How does quid pro quo works in your opinion? This works if we are talking about “empty box”projects to just take money but it isn’t - we diligently answer any question about Biennale, we have prepared a lot and we are happy to show you, we can proof a connection with mentioned architects and already explained how we got it. in this case, even if Chris votes, it will be thanks to a confident project and not because we are doing a “quid pro quo”. BTW he doesn’t.

It looks like you’re trying to fight something that I can’t understand by destroying innocent people and good projects in the bud, it’s a shame. look - more than a million VP voted “no” and no any questions about the biennale from these people(maybe 1 by alwayschill). is that fair?

Thank you mister for what you do and see you at the First Metaverse Architecture & Design Biennale.

Look at your voting history. https://governance.decentraland.org/profile/?address=0xf7748b4f60a8d36dcd6ccb3d30244baecb1429cf
It looks like you haven’t voted that often, but when you did, seems favorable to all of the ones Metatrekkers voted on.

To clarify, this is not personal. So don’t point your finger at me.

Oh please excuse me if i was so emotional, no fingers on you)

For sure i know my voting history and you got me that im not so active. But nobody manage my vote and opinion. Im trying to vote for proposals which is pushing Decentraland forward.

Hello, @Metancy I could give a list of personal opinions on Grants enacted that will naturally bring architecture and design to DCLs infrastructure. Instead, mainly I just don’t see the need in supporting the amount for such a marketing event.

@MetaverseRick now you vote in conflict of interest?

Salute everyone and wish you a lot of joy in the upcoming holidays!

METANCY with partners has been working on the concept of the Biennale for a long time, but for a long time we did not dare to drop out the proposal because we sincerely believe that grants should be received by companies that have already proved their usefulness for the DCL and for the community, and also made successful projects developing the DCL.

Now we can confidently consider ourselves one of such teams. Here are the brightest highlights that describe METANCY :rocket:

  1. Official ru-speaking community @decentraland_ru is a Telegram based community with more than 1200 people onboard opened in 2019 by owners of METANCY and DAPPCRAFT. Open structure of community let it to meet newbies and answer any questions about DCL in few seconds. Our team constantly provides events and meet-ups to share Decentraland with new users. We created FAQ’s and manuals for users, creators and investors to make them an easier way to DCL. Decentraland_ru unites people from all CIS countries including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Aizerbaijan and lot more countries speaking ru language.

  2. Metaverse Rick YouTube channel is a source of our CPO Rick where he enlightens Decentraland for ru-speaking YouTube viewers. There is a lot of theoretical and practical materials leading people from the basics of creating a web 3 wallet and signing into DCL. Rick with our CTO Demid was a guests on the show with 35000 views talking about metaverse and dcl especially.

  3. Metancy pool / Metancy art is a non-commercial scenes in DCL coordinating at -49;73. There we made amount of community events and help to develop music and art figures not only by providing space but in same time with our marketing and shilling possibilities.

  4. Pulses birthday by Tinkoff bank is a commercial project represeted huge 2 days event on 15 parcels scene fully developed and handled by Metancy team. Reaches more than 7700 visitors with med. session time 24 min. and 50k+ viewers during YouTube stream. Main is media coverage - press release with straight link to DCL was pushed by Tinkoff in medias with total coverage more than 7 mil people. Isn’t it a goal?)

  5. ANZA architect education center is a beautiful scene locating in -1 ; 120 which is great piece of meta-architecture created by Metancy and it’s not all. Project has an utility, ANZA provides there an educational courses with 50+ new DCL users onboard just during the first wave.

:+1: :+1: :+1: Sounds great!
