    I am a glutton for DCL and also DAO related issues, I have spare time, the energy and personality to share my love of DCL at IRL events.

    I was suckered into DCL by my daughter in 8/21 when she asked for an investment into an ICE wearable. I ended up buying three and then joined in 11/21. Since then I have acquired over 1500 wearable’s, 33ish names and who knows maybe some land soon. I also consider myself an active voter with an opinion but not enemies (hopefully.
  • What skills, qualifications, and experience will you bring with you?
    Common sense and a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Please share the details of an event you’ve planned in the past.
    There have been many and many more, but I am specifically proud about an event around employee appreciation specifically for a large group of folks who were being “rebadged” after a takeover. The location was at the newly acquired facility and there was 400+ in attendance. My responsibility was to oversee a team to assist me in implementing the following plan:
  • Personally, communicated the invitation to all employees via intranet and also personal contact information.
  • Determined who would speak, what topic and for how long
    • Team had to coordinate flights, hotels and transportation for executives traveling for the event.
  • Procured extra needs for the space such as lighting, video, streaming, seating, tables, etc
  • All catering needs
  • All special needs requests which were asked ahead of time

Associates said thank you on the way out and I felt a sense of accomplishment and to me that is success.

Measures of success: Success was measured through the number of tickets sold and the positive mood of the event. It was a sold-out event that was super fun!

I am a UAE Resident, but due to work commitments, I frequently travel between India and Dubai. My time is divided between these two locations, allowing me to engage with diverse communities and broaden the scope of Decentraland’s reach across different cultural and professional landscapes.

Why are you applying?

I’ve been building in Decentraland for over two years and have grown very passionate about its future. I’ve seen it evolve and I’m excited to contribute more by bringing people together both online and in real life to explore and enjoy what Decentraland has to offer.

What is your history with both Decentraland and Decentraland’s DAO?

Engaging with Decentraland as a dedicated builder, I’ve seen my creations come to life over a hundred times on this platform. Being a proud landowner, I have been running the Dhingia Club since February 2022, I host weekly UnMonday events, and have been active in promoting Decentraland at events like XVerse Gitex and Blockchain Economy event in Dubai in October 2022. I also organised the MVFW 2022 in March 2023, a four-day event in Decentraland, showcasing various in-world wearables. Last year, I was honored to have my project funded by the Decentraland DAO, which allowed me to create over 35 open source builds. The outcome was heartwarming; the community embraced our efforts, and many users integrated these builds within Decentraland. The success of this venture has propelled us at Dhingia Builds to ambitiously embark on a larger project, the Dhingia Builds HQ. This initiative is poised to enhance the Decentraland experience by providing a platform where individuals can delve into crafting and constructing valuable assets like builds and wearables. They can collect, store, and ingeniously combine various resources, nurturing a culture of creativity and utility. I am profoundly grateful to the Decentraland DAO for their continued trust and support, which is enabling us to bring this passion project to fruition. My journey so far has fostered a deep-rooted trust with the DAO, and every day, the enthusiasm fosters as I work towards contributing to a platform I hold dear.

With a background in 3D building and event organisation, I have a mix of technical skill and community engagement experience. I have organised events both in Decentraland and in real life, which makes me excited to represent Decentraland at various events.

  • What type of event was it?

A Decentraland themed meetup event on 15th July 2023, in India.

  • What was your role?

I took on the responsibility of organizing and hosting the event. My tasks included securing permissions for the venue, collaborating with dance groups for performances, coordinating with local police authorities to ensure safety, and arranging for the printing of Decentraland-themed t-shirts and other merchandise like badges and stickers. I also managed the setup of multimedia systems required for the dance performances and the karaoke segment. Additionally, I ensured all necessary resources were available for the Decentraland-themed painting activity, providing participants with the materials they needed to express their creativity.

    Over 500 attendees

  • How did you define success? Was it successful?

The event was successful as it engaged the community, promoted Decentraland, and created a fun and interactive environment for attendees. The Decentraland-themed merchandise was well-received, and the painting activity sparked creativity among participants.

We are both passionate about decentralized technology, Decentraland, and the future of hybrid event production and digital art.

What is your history with both Decentraland and Decentraland’s DAO?
Mattimus has been following Decentraland since the MANA token launch and land sale but finally dove in during the first metaverse music festival. After that he began his journey learning the sdk, creating community modules, assisting other devs in the dcl discord sdk channels and community members. We purchased our first parcel in July 2022 and created seed, a virtual version of the gallery and event space psyriiis created, owned and managed for 10 years in a physical location near nyc.

Since then, Mattimus has contributed to several community events with artists like Jack Frost at xetaplex, CBD and others. Mattimus is an active contributor to the Dao in providing feedback from the development perspective, when possible, as well as general discussions about dao procedures and educating others about decentraland and the Dao processes. Mattimus has also contributed to several grant projects such as Knights of Antrom, Vox Boards and recently part of the in world builder team. He is also the recipient of his own grant which produced a backpack web app, dcl closet, which is in ongoing development to integrate with the latest dcl backpack features.

What skills, qualifications, and experience will you bring with you?
Mattimus has a deep level of understanding of the entire decentraland tech stack and sdk and psyriiis has many years of event planning and coordination, large festival and event production, as well as design and art capabilities. She has also produced her own clothing and apparel line with her artwork as well as creating our own nft collection from scratch with Mattimus coding the smart contract.

The community events mattimus has contributed sdk development to included many advanced features such as wearables drops, interactive group activities, scavenger hunts, parkour and more. He has also created several portable experiences and immersive features not seen anywhere else in decentraland.

We also have maintained connections with various venues and vendors in the nyc area and have access to a variety sound and visual production equipment that we own. We also are very familiar with streaming events and can produce hybrid events that happen in world and irl at the same time. We have experience creating all types of swag ranging from t-shirts, leggings and other clothing to stickers, art prints and tapestries.

What type of event was it?
Psyriiis has planned and produced over 300 events over a 10 year span of managing her IRL art gallery and venue. The events ranged from open mics, poetry slams, live concerts, coworking and tech talks, tech awards events, and art showcases to weddings, baby showers, birthdays and more. She has also worked on many large festival and event productions providing artwork, sculptures and environment and stage design and production.

What was your role?
Event planner, producer, designer, manager, marketing

How many people attended?
Events ranged from 50 to 500(or more) people at her venue and the large festival productions she contributed to have had 10s of thousands of attendees.

How did you define success? Was it successful?
Success was determined by her ability to sustain her location for 10 years through hosting events and continuously be offered to contribute to the larger productions. In addition, she was the top search result for event spaces in her geographic area as well as the highest rated on yelp.
