Description

Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital enters the metaverse to create an additional source of donations in partnership with the Metaverse Advisory Group, a fully owned subsidiary of iMining Technologies, and the Manhattan DAO.

The Glenrose Foundation aims to raise funding for the Glenrose Hospital, so the Hospital can continue to develop innovative, technology-based solutions which provide individuals with disabilities live a better, more fulfilled lives.

Currently, the Hospital, among other initiatives, is working on developing a revolutionary technology, the Brain Computer Interface (ā€œBCIā€). This cutting-edge technology harnesses the power of imagination, allowing people with mobility and communication challenges a new way to interact with their environments. To help explain the complicated technology, the Glenrose Foundation produced a video featuring a young boy named Liam. The video demonstrates how BCI works and the impact it makes on the lives of kids like Liam.

The Glenrose foundationā€™s vision is to create a recurring stream of funding for the hospital, so they can continue to work on improving peopleā€™s lives. Given that the Glenrose Foundation has shown such great commitment towards Decentraland. We hope that the community will show support for this grant.

See you in Decentraland :rocket:

Exciting timesā€¦ Congratulations!

Congratulations on passing the voting threshold for the Glenrose Rehabilitation proposalā€¦ Congratulations to the team at MAG, iMining Technologies & Manhattan DAO!

I voted no, as I do not think a NFT gallery costs 60k USD and takes 6 months to develop.
Is it possible to get a budget details?

The amount requested for the grant is not purely for the NFT gallery. It includes educating patients and the Glenrose team in regards to Decentraland and curating NTFā€™s, infrastructure capacity building (Hardware/Software), POIā€™s, wearables and fundraising. We have a plan which we can discuss.

Weā€™re remodeling the Glenrose gallery to focus more on the tech being used in the hospital for educational purposes. The gallery will also have Glenrose wearables, purchase of which will contribute as donation for the hospital

Hi Community,
Regarding this grant, it was not possible to verify the progress of the following tasks of the roadmap they presented, considering that the contract has vested 83% of the funds to this date:

  1. Month 2: Assist the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation to write and submit a project proposal for the development of the NFT Gallery and submit a POI proposal to the to the Manhattan DAO;
  2. Month 5: Prepare and launch a marketing campaign and events with POAPs on Decentraland and other social media platforms around the launch of the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation NFT gallery and web presence;
  3. What we have seen in-world: we cannot see any progress since the last deploy (more than a month ago).

There are also doubts about the use of the funds, since it is not specified in the original proposal and complying with that is also a condition in the presentation of the projects (based on the terms and conditions, original proposal and the document that made the grants framework and the proposal for expanding the grants program). Until today, the contract has already vested around $50K.

In conclusion: We suggest to the DAO committee to execute a preventive revocation of the grant, with the commitment that, if the project is completed -demonstrating that the project have fulfilled the roadmap, and showing the use of the funds with transparency as expected by the grants program-, a new contract will be created so that the grantee can receive the rest of the funds.
