Introduction
Hi community, Gino and Kim here, reporting on the progress of the Ambassador program. First of all, sorry for the late post, this isn’t our main focus, and we missed the deadline. Thanks to the GSS for the reminder. We have some important updates to share with everyone, if you’re interested please keep reading!
Highlights

We are pleased to announce that we have received approval to move forward with funding from both the Foundation and the DAO. This financial support will be instrumental in making our program a success and everything is ready on that front.

After some interviews conducted by the Decentraland Foundation, we are thrilled to welcome Maryana, our new Program Coordinator on board. Their expertise in the Decentraland community and enthusiasm will be invaluable in guiding the program’s growth. Maryana will be compensated from the DCL Foundation budget and she will serve as a part-time contributor for this project.

We have published an Open Call for Ambassadors, and we have received 24 applications. This shows a mild interest in the program so probably we will fine-tune the communication and promotion of the program so we reach a broader audience.
Blockers
- Currently, our biggest challenge is the need for more submissions to ensure a geographically diverse group of Ambassadors. While the response has been positive, we still have room for a more diverse set of Ambassadors.
Next steps

In light of the current situation, we are considering potential adjustments. Relaunching the communication campaign to reach a broader audience and opening up the Open Call again could be the first step. If that doesn’t work, we may revisit the number of ambassadors we plan to onboard and reduce the scope and budget accordingly. We will carefully assess the situation and make the necessary decisions.

Our next immediate steps involve formally onboarding the PM and the selection of Ambassadors. We will evaluate the applications and select candidates who align best with our program’s goals and the Decentraland community’s needs.

Simultaneously, we will begin setting up the operational mechanisms of the program. This includes onboarding, training, and defining the roles and responsibilities of the Ambassadors and the Program Manager role.
