I learned a lot about DCL from the MetaTrekkers welcoming tours, events and twitter spaces, and they are doing a great job, i can only imagine what they can offer with an educational center that covers all topics, a much needed one

I think speakers and educational conferences could be really cool in decentraland. Id like to see more conversations like twitter spaces happening inside decentraland. For this grant id start small though and prove that your model works before asking for 240k.
Maybe begin with just one speaker? Make sure all the technical issues are figured out and that theres actually an audience thats interested. Then use it as a case study to slowly scale up to something larger?

HI Shiny, We have a big team and are still ready to continue contributing to DCL. Beattrekkers 1 is over and we are ready to keep planting seeds in DCL for education. As far as we didnât mention DCL in an article etc, everyone around the world knows Metatrekkers was born and bred in DCL, itâs all in our bio and in our linktree. We are a native DCL citizen.

So far the education initiative and events that you have mentioned above have all been funded by me because of the passion and love I have for DCL. I am only using 1 person resources at this point, so I hope with 1 person resources those numbers are comparably good.I understand what you mean that the mass public is not fond of crypto and Metaverse right now, but I am still fond of the metaverse and especially my team is. We will fight for DCL and the Metaverse with every drop of blood we have. Its not easy challenge but I am confident we can do it with the right resources and support. Hi Ile, First, thank you for your feedback. As Maryana mentioned above we had more than 1 education event which was funded by me personally, actually 4 international conferences, so just applying for a grant for 1 speaker will be counterproductive, we want to build a ted like platform and a place for people to express their ideas and have engagement with the community, share ideas and learn together, make new friends. We are trying to build a platform, if it was just for one speaker, there is no need to apply for a grant, I can do it myself like I have been doing with the previous conferences.

It looks like you have plans to ask for multiple grants under the MetaTrekkers name, and justify asking for this money from the DAO by separating them into different content areas. So itâs correct in saying that so far this breakdown is correct?
Metatrekkers Entertainment Grant: $120,000 (Enacted)
Metatrekkers Educational Grant: $240,000 (In progress)
So will you continue to ask for grants, under the Metatrekkers name, but separate them into different categories like this? (For instance, will you need a âMetatrekkers Fashion Week Grantâ to onboard the biggest names in fashion? Or a âMetaverse Decentralcon Grantâ to onboard users in upcoming conferences? Or for games, expansion in DCL, etc. etc)

Letâs be honest Chris, I voted YES on your last proposal because I believed that our community could benefit from what Metatrekkers was bringing to the table. You thanked me in my DMâs for giving you a chance. I made this vote on the assumption that the previous grant would be the only one you would need to grow Metatrekkers. IF I HAD KNOWN that youâd be asking for a quarter of a million dollars just two months later, I would have voted no. I feel like you were not transparent to the Decentraland community by saying âWe are trying to shoot for a one-time thingâ.
I look forward to your answers on the above questions.

Hi Canessa,Thanks for your feedback. We only apply for projects that we feel provide value to the DCL community. Currently we donât have plans to apply for any future grants âbutâ if we see a project that can provide robust growth to DCL, allow DCL to continue to flourish, increase daily activity users, brand exposure for DCL, we will consider it and the community can vote to decide if it passes or not. Our first priority is DCL. I hope this is clear enough. Thanks

Voters might not want to support this educational grant if they know you might bring other grants that can provide robust growth into DCL, so this is why I am asking for absolute clarity here. Thank you Jack! We hope to continue to provide quality content in DCL just like what we have done with BeatTrekkers! We strongly feel education is the key and next big thing for the Metaverse.

Hi @Canessa , Thanks for your timely response as well. I think what I wrote here is clear and transparent. Our #1 priority is Decentraland, itâs not second or third. You can tell by our events and actions, how much we love Decentraland. 99% of the time when we host an BeatTrekkers events thanks to the support of DCL community and DCL Dao, our events are ranked #2 behind DG respectively. We also have given the streaming rights to DG as well, because of how much we love what they are doing and believe in them as well. We focus on community projects and not individual projects. We have a model that is working and benefits the DCL community and growth of DCL. We will continue to give DCL every drop of sweat we have. If you feel this model isnât correct which I would hate to hear,but if you do, please feel free to vote no as you have, but we still love DCL , you and the community and will give everything we have for it.
This is not about my feelings, your feelings towards me, or my personal choice to vote.
Iâm asking if you intend to ask for more money from the DAO in 2022 and 2023 and how that might be spent.

@MetaTrekkers Thank you for your proposal. I am still undecided. Would you mind simplifying this proposal down so I can understand it better.
I think the part I am not completely understanding is when I look at your speakers, I am not sure how their topics relate to Decentraland. They relate to blockchain, crypto, metaverse (in general), gamification, and other topics surrounding this space. However, it doesnât seem like this is Decentraland-minded. I do recall other people who were looking for grants for medical research, book authoring and more that wanted to talk about similar topics but their grant proposals were denied by the DAO because they were not on the specific topic of Decentraland. Those all also were related to the same topics your speakers mention.
This seems like it is more about growing the Metatrekkerâs IDEO rather than actually helping Decentraland grow. Would you help me out to better understand how this will directly onboard new people to Decentraland?
Hi @mini , I have witnessed people come from the mountains with no resources at all but through education and hard work, they better themselves and went to elite schools like Harvard! Education is the key, especially interactive activities for adults in the Metaverse!
