Why do you insist on confusing my ability to explain how you misrepresented someone else’s point as me also sharing a passionate feeling for what that person has to say?
No one disagrees that the majority of people not interested in learning and building left because there isn’t enough content.
That isn’t a hot take.
Suggesting that the development not being as fast as you imagine possible is because they don’t care or are lining their pockets isn’t the same thing as voicing concerns about the development of DCL and problem-solving ways to improve it.
I want to make one more point regarding funny business in the DAO.
Yes, some funky stuff went down. Yes, those whales are now acting like the good guys. Yes, some projects have not delivered on funds they received.
This is content for DAO discussions, not for public-facing Twitter and Twitch streams. “Exposing” the DAO in public-facing forums is spreading FUD on massive scale. So to then ask what happened to the visitor count? Well any that didn’t lose massive investments - perhaps we contributed to scaring them away with FUD content.
The FUD needs to stop now. The lack of professionalism from a GAME DEV TEAM needs to stop. Attacks from competing projects need to stop. I think everyone on every side needs to apologize, shake hands, and make up. Otherwise we can just make factions and keep dividing in an unhealthy way.
I hope what you just said happens, But we all have seen some double standards. Exodus has continued to develop. It is not easy to see a proposal fail again and again every time new reason for a developer. While we see similar proposals have been passed. While people find few minute clips of jtv saying something about foundation, they ignore the hundred and hundred hours of streaming jtv has done in the decentraland category. He did everything for the community but when he wanted help to fund exodus which is again going to help grow the community, This is the treatment he got. I am not saying jtv is better than anyone who got the grant but he has certainly done as much as they have done for dcl maybe even more. At this point i dont see any questions about exodus left to be asked in terms of this grant. Hope whatever happens is the best for Decentraland!
There are two sides to every argument here.
JTV was dissing the community with FUD posts at the time. Remember posts like “NO WEARABLE CREATOR HAS BROKEN EVEN”? This one was a major turning point in the opinions of those who’s support he could’ve had (at the time).
What about the time SDB was shamed for selling a Santa Hat to make rent. We can’t just say that JTV was victimized when he, himself, poised himself against our community and even delisted himself from the official DCL category on Twitch. These are big sentiments and it’s hard to champion a hero who wants to do nothing but detract from the image of the platform we’re all so passionate about building.
It does not go only one way and this is why I think it’s such a massive start that JTV delivered even a sliver of an apology today. These are big steps in the right direction.
I feel this the most. Which is why it’s important not to be scorned and to keep building (as you all have done). And now, here we are with a landslide of a “YES” vote.
Never give up hope.
So it seems, like most of the disagreements we have had in the past, that we really don’t disagree with one another on the premise. We simply view it and approach it in a different way.
Ill concede.
I appreciate and respect you opening up and giving Exodus a chance.
Since when the TRUTH is called FUD?
To be honest @JTV is free to stream under every category he choose, do not forget this is his own channel, also like I previously said HE’s still the biggest DCL streamer and I’m pretty sure he onboarded more people on decentraland than most of the projects with big grants.
Show some respect @Shiny
Show some respect decentralanders
Show some respect whales
EOF;
Truth and FUD can be the same. The point is that not everyone responds well to this kind of content.
If pushing people away is your idea of building a strong community, then I won’t argue.

(remember this Black Mirror episode??)
Additionally, not all FUD is true. Like the “NO WEARABLE CREATOR HAS EVER BROKEN EVEN” statement. Sometimes it’s just straight misinformation in an effort to retain clout.
Hey man, If you are going to quote people please get the information correct. Otherwise you are the one spreading misinformation.
Here’s the tweet from what I said.
"I have asked around 30 publishers in decentraland if they’ve made money on their wearables. Out of those 30 there’s only been 1 that has sold enough wearables to cover their original cost.
Why do you think that would be?"
Source:
I remember what the post was and it prompted the entire creator community to open the kimono on our sales.
My goal today wasn’t to talk about your past slip ups, but it seems like that’s where the debate went.
It’s also interesting that people like Mazafaka have such a negative response, yet they aren’t a major santa hat hodler and are no where near the top 100 leaderboard in Exodus. Furthermore he is not even a member of your team, but is here pushing arguments that represent your team in a negative light. As a leader, it would be wise to discourage this kind of “support”.
I agree. I highly discourage users giving misinformation or FUD. Please be sure to quote accurate information and not misleading rumors about the development of Exodus or individual team members. This behavior should not be tolerated.
Thank you Dripp, that’s very important to maintain a healthy environment. Happy to assist in any other questions or concerns regarding Exodus.
So you’re defending the above Tweet, that it’s not FUD? And that those numbers are accurate portrayals of the creator base? Because what you’re not mentioning is the train of responses where we all stated how much we spent and how much we made back.
This is a bummer because the ENTIRE message I’ve been telling others is that we need to look at this more objectively and not personally. But you make this extremely hard.
Our decentraland community has been a target of manipulative forces, intentioned on eliminating competition and cementing their selfish agenda. We must rise together against this tyranny and protect our collective betterment!
The responses I have given have been logical and informative. They have not been emotional. Please refer to the messages provided and their information. Each message has provided useful information toward previous proposal, objections, solutions, and how users should not spread misinformation or rumors.
@DOCTORdripp as for me, despite giving my all to wearables, I only made marginal gains and promptly reinvested them into other DCL creators or projects.
Correct, but unfortunately you had the additional challenge of not being fully vertical. So you had additional overhead to produce the items.
Of course this path is different for everyone, so making a blanket statement and selling it as truth on Twitter cannot be accurate.
Despite the decentraland decline in users and the mana cost hitting .30 cents, I’m still taking an eighty-percent hit from my dollar’s worth. Ouch!
I do not see how a tweet from nearly a year ago regarding a tweet of publishers success is relevant to this proposal. To add, the post was a personal experience from creators I had spoken to. I did not reference any Decentraland facts but my observation from my own personal experience.
