Tipping Protocol for Increased Community Engagement

Hey Decentraland,

We’ve developed a tipping protocol that helps boost community engagement by rewarding valuable contributors.

We want to gauge interest by first seeing where it would be most useful for DAOs.

I have two questions:

  1. Would you be interested in enabling users to tip each other here on discourse? (The idea being to increase engagement of native members)
  2. Would you be interested in increasing engagement for your tweets? (By rewarding users who like/ retweet or comment on your tweets)

This will help us know what’s most interesting to you. The protocol is ready and I’m happy to share links if there is interest in taking a look.

Hi @skyfoxx !

  1. Decentraland is not in need of boosting “community engagement”, but overall engagement from the general public.
  2. There already is a way to reward “valuable contributors”, with a Donations Box which they can place in their scene.

Thanks for that feedback @Ozymandias. You mean engagement from the general public on Twitter? (As in, you want to grow the size of your channels)?

I created a short video here to let you know what we are about.

TLDR:

  1. Users can tip good content
  2. Our protocol gives additional rewards to to authors and finders of good content
  3. This works on Twitter and also here, but if I understood you correctly, you are more interested in twitter, for example, right?

Would love your feedback!

You created a short video, but you posted no link.
I had to unblock javascript from loom.com to actually see the video’s presence

This forum is not where the “valuable contributors” of Decentraland come to publish.
DCL content is published in Decentraland itself !

You must consider the DCL DAO Forums the same as the hallways of a Capitol Monument.
Here you communicate with the various department managers of Decentraland.

We are not “catering to a public following” with the posts we produce here !

Your project sounds to be of interest to actual content-creators who are able to maintain a regular presence of followers (without any kind of DAO grant, ey !!).

It is to them you should pitch your project, not us.

Perhaps you should even seek to contact the DCL Foundation itself, they can be considered as one such “content-creator”, which actually maintains an active presence on Twitter.
I believe you can reach them via the intercom available on www.decentraland.org (or on Discord, of course).
