How the process works

  1. Submit your proposal
  2. AI agents review different aspects
  3. Human evaluation by DCL Regenesis Labs
  4. Decision & kickoff
  5. Build & deliver with milestone tracking

Important: This AI-based review is experimental and part of the pilot.

Timeline (Season 1)

  • Applications open: April 1
  • Applications close: April 24
  • Evaluation: April 20 – May 1
  • Project kickoff: May 1 – May 8
  • Delivery deadline: July 31

Who should apply?

You’re a strong fit if:

  • You have a clear, scoped idea
  • You can ship in 90 days
  • You’re building for mobile or AI tooling
  • You’re comfortable working open source
  • You have relevant experience (solo or team)

What makes a strong proposal?

  • Clear problem statement
  • Defined deliverables
  • Realistic timeline & milestones
  • Budget tied to output
  • Measurable success metrics

Built with community input

Before launching, we shared an RFC to gather feedback from the community. Thanks to everyone who contributed, we’ve read your input closely and tried to reflect this in the first Season:

  • Strong focus on realistic delivery
→ We hear your concerns around platform limitations and are addressing them directly. The milestone-based structure keeps projects grounded from the start, with clear checkpoints to track progress and catch issues early. Proposals are also evaluated on feasibility, platform compatibility and scope realism

  • Review Model updated
→ Each submission is evaluated by purpose-built AI agents trained on Decentraland context, with final decisions made by the Regenesis Labs team

  • Clear expectations for proposals
→ We agree with the need to properly evaluate proposals, look closely at team capability and define what makes a project worth funding. The applicants will need to clearly state how they’ll realistically deliver within 90 days. Each proposal will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking its specific context and constraints into account

  • No DAO voting on individual grants
→ Decisions are made centrally, but the process remains transparent. After an initial triage, proposals are shared publicly and discussed in the forum where the community can follow and oversee

  • Already being built
→ Some ideas from the RFC go beyond the scope of this program and are already being developed in parallel (such as templates, asset packs or educational workshops)

  • Events are not a focus
→ While their value was raised in the RFC, events are already being supported by the Decentraland Foundation, so we’re not prioritizing them in this season

  • Post-delivery support
→ Projects that show strong results may be further supported or incubated by RGL
