Next Steps for the DAO Council?

Hello everyone! Now that the Council has been elected, I’m curious about what comes next.

According to the Open Call to DAO Council Nominations:

  • The Council should define the DAO’s direction by drafting and presenting strategic guidelines within the first 60 days.
  • It should identify key focus areas and long-term goals to help drive Decentraland’s growth.

If I understand correctly, after setting these guidelines, the next steps will be:

  • Recruiting the Executive Director and the Executive Arm
  • Publishing the Annual Strategic Execution Plan and Budget
  • Publishing the Treasury Management Strategy

Is this accurate, or are there any additional details beyond what was outlined in the Open Call, or have I misunderstood something?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a lot of conversations with the community about the DAO Council elections, and there’s clearly a lot of interest in what happens next. I’d love to share some insights during my next Toxic Tuesday event, so any info you can provide would be much appreciated!

Hi Toxicwaifu, we are definitely excited to get things going. Right now, we are planning to hold a group call next week (depending on everyone’s availability) to introduce ourselves and to discuss and further define or refine the objectives for the DAO Council. At this time we started to set up an efficient way of communicating and trying to get everyone together.

The council has to represent the community. Not the other way around.

My main concern is establishing effective communication channels between the council & the community.

I would like to see some type of a goal framework from this newly appointed council to get the ball rolling. At least everyone will have a clear idea on what to work on & iterations can be adjusted as required or demanded from all parties.
