Decentraland or Decentraland DAO should buy Nifty Island. Probably not logistical possible, but worth a discussion.
They already light years ahead on what I have been trying to do with building the PVP space and linking NFT communities into it. So worth the ask if anyone else thinks so too.
I would not be opposed if it was a possibility. their building and gaming tools are unmatched.
Not a financially viable option.

I do think its an interesting idea, because that is how big tech gets ahead, but dont think it will happen…
Curious how much would it actually take to do it 
Consider this. Said companies could be up for sale for a token 1USD. Upon acquisition, DCL will have to also assume all its liabilities which includes outstanding debt, overhead costs like servers and staff to run the platform etc, as well as managing an entirely new community with different expectations and dynamics.
All these whilst continuing work on Decentraland which has its own issues.
Its worth considering that if we were swimming in money, turning in a nice profit and have an already large and stable community and economy. None of which is true atm.
I am all for inviting our fellow metaverse friends over, but not in acquiring their platforms.
Be concerned about our survival first before trying to save another platform, lest we provide refuge, sink ourselves and then traumatise them a second time
We could unite the communities and create some cool integrations. This could significantly boost Decentraland. Win-Win. Costs matter, so analysis and estimate would be required. This could be a good RFI to submit to the Foundation/DAO.
There’s a pretty strong crossover of communities already, and both worlds would benefit. Gameplay and building in Nifty is so smooth and simple; it would be truly a sad day if we lost it. DCL is coming back stronger than ever, so a collab could only be a good thing and beneficial to all.
Without knowing the exact reasons for Nifty’s closure, it is a safe bet that maintenance costs are a primary factor.
Decentraland = a virtual world protocol that uses blockchain to establish ownership and seeks to decentralize content and governance as well.
Nifty Island = a centralized UGC game/platform that uses blockchain for certain assets, rewards, and economic elements.
Nifty is Web2 technology hooked up to Web3.
Is that what we want for DCL?
In my view, that would be a mistake.
