Current Situation
Thousands of people have been killed in Turkey as a result of earthquakes with magnitude 7.8 and 7.5. In the last 48 hours, there were more than 100 aftershocks that caused widespread destruction.
The quakes and aftershocks toppled buildings and sent rescuers scrambling through the rubble to find survivors.
The death toll was expected to rise with experts warning that aftershocks could continue for days or weeks. Millions of people are living in temporary shelters, cars and containers with very limited supplies of food, water, clothes and electricity.
