Budget for 1 year: $1,200 - To publish 1 wearable a month to give to content creators. I will manage the film club for free (no personal compensation) and give 100% of the funds to content creators that submit applicable entries. Content creators need to post a DCL related video on youtube which will be reviewed and privately rated. Depending the quality of the video, the youtube content creator would recieve monthly wearable(s). To keep costs down and provide additional compensation, there is also the possibility that generous DCL community members can donate to a community led content creator fund.
I believe there is value in creating smaller reward systems such as this to amplify the creators putting out content on a regular basis. Like you said, instead of bigger, more concentrated events, lets do smaller ones with more frequency.
I believe that if smaller/newer creators began getting recognized for their YouTube videos, it would motivate them to create more content. Because Search Engine Optimization takes “Relevancy” into account when searching for content, we need more Decentraland content created NOW for it to show up in future SEO results next time there is a catalyst to bring more users in (aka, bull run).
I encourage everyone to just go to YouTube, google “Decentraland” and see for yourself which videos come up first. They are years old, and showcase a Decentraland that has changed a lot since then. There are also a lot of speculatory videos on the price of the Mana coin, and then lots of FUD videos, which get quite a bit of attention.
So I’m voting yes, YouTube is underutilized and could provide incredible value in the future if users decide to create content there.
