I believe this to be a small yet effective change as many people eithergot banned or left DAO Discord due to poor management and ineffective moderation. I’m not going to point fingers to anyone but we all know who they are.

I do not believe that an individually governed, manupilated and controlled Discord channel reflects, conveys or encompasses all active users. Especially when we’re trying to pitch “DECENTRALIZED” to the masses.

Decentraland DAO Linked Profiles should point to the Official Decentraland Discord.

I believe the DAO Discord is the best fit to be linked with the DAO website.

To me, the impacts for banned people are absent or minimal until shown otherwise.

It is not even working, more then like 6 month for sure. It is supposed to open a specific “designed” channel where you post the “copied clipboard content” into the channel, but instead, it just opens the “Rules” channel and that’s it.

Hi @Huepow , the service is working. It’s a feature our squad built, maintains and monitors regularly. Maybe there’s something going on with your Discord onboarding flow, but happy to help you out and figure out what’s going on!

Regarding this proposal, no Discord server is DECENTRALIZED. The technology does not allow for any kind of decentralization, there are central servers, admins with sole rights to do stuff, external policy related to Discord as a company and many more things. Our team built this feature with the idea of continuing the identity of a governance user between multiple platforms where the governance conversation happens (Forum, Discord, and we even thought about Twitter but ditched the idea due to how some community members behave on the past regarding personal attacks and doxxing).
