Introduction

Hello from the Ambassadors Program, Kim, Gino, and Canessa. The Ambassadors have held multiple events this month, and more are being planned.

Highlights

This month Ambassadors planned and hosted events in: The United Kingdom, Brasil, Japan, Dubai. Other Ambassadors have begun to make connections with brands and agencies due to their involvement in the Ambassador program (more to be announced at a later date).

United Kingdom, Feb. 12th: Skat Lionrock hosted an event in conjunction with the Henley Business School/University of Reading in the United Kingdom. Students were shown how to create their accounts and log in to Decentraland.

Japan, Feb. 20th: Kenji and Hancos hosted an event in Japan. Decentraland users connected with metaverse enthusiasts and brand representatives. Additional events are being planned with the Ambassador and a new brand entering Web3.

Dubai, Feb. 22nd: Serenaelis hosted an event targeting influencers in Dubai. Users brought their own computers and logged in to Decentraland, where there was a digital party happening in conjunction with the IRL event. Users got to interact with the participants and talk about Decentraland. Big thank you to the community for showing them what DCL is all about! We are excited to test how influencer events can be conducted and how they would perform!

Brasil, Feb. 24th: Atrovenado hosted a workshop in Sao Paulo, Brasil. Users were taught the origin and evolution of the metaverse, how to set up a Metamask wallet, and how to log in to Decentraland. This event had an emphasis on music and DJ’s in the metaverse.
Brasil, Feb. 28th: Atrovenado spoke at the World Trade Center in Sao Paulo, Brasil, talking to an audience in business and marketing about Decentraland.

Each Ambassador will be preparing full write-ups of their events and their learnings to share with the community. These will be shared as the end of the program collectively.

Blockers

Due to time constraints, Lastraum (Los Angeles, United States) and VvCryptos (Uruguay) have opted to leave the Ambassador program. Lastraum returned his allocation of $450 to the DAO, and VvCryptos resigned before the payment was made.

Next steps

The community has also asked for a better system to know when these events are happening. The Ambassadors will post on social media, and we will be announcing upcoming events in the “Social Amplification” channel of the DAO Discord. Please be sure to follow all Ambassadors and keep an eye out for their upcoming events!

New Roadmap: The Ambassador program has conducted 6 official events in 5 different countries. The overall cost of the program to date has been $7,876.00. The grant was paused on December 27th, 2023. It had 65 days remaining at that time. The team would like to unpause the grant on March 13th, which would create a final deadline for the project on May 17th.
The DAO has currently paid out $14,499.00. The grant requires $14,501.00 remaining.
The new contract should be reinstated to disburse the remaining fees over the course of 65 more days. The initial delay of the project was in part because of the time necessary at the beginning to build the program from scratch, interview the applicants, and allow the community to vote on the selection process. At this time there are no blockers preventing the Ambassadors from planning and executing their two required events before the end of the grant.
