Writing my first proposal for the integration of World ID 2.0 (PROOF OF PERSONHOOD, ZERO-KNOWLEDGE PROOFS, SEMAPHORE) passport , created by Sam Altman, Alex Blania, into the Decentraland ecosystem as a revolutionary step towards ensuring a secure, humanlike and innovative metaverse. With the advent of advanced technologies and the growing concerns regarding digital identity verification, it’s imperative that Decentraland adopts a mechanism that distinguishes real users from bots or secondary accounts effectively. World ID 2.0 presents an optimal solution to these challenges

Challenge Overview

Decentraland faces significant challenges in maintaining the integrity and value of its ecosystem due to the ease of creating multiple accounts. This issue particularly affects airdrops and the economy around wearables and chat interactions, as individuals can exploit these systems by accumulating assets through numerous accounts, thereby dropping them them on the market diluting their value and harming the genuine community engagement

Worldcoin Integration: A Solution

World ID 2.0 offers a unique and innovative approach to verifying human identity. Built on the Ethereum blockchain and running on the Optimism super chain, World ID 2.0 provides a decentralized and secure method of human identification through iris scanning technology. This technology is encapsulated in the Orb, an open-source device designed to ensure that each digital identity corresponds to a real human being without infringing on personal privacy

Benefits to Decentraland

Huepow, I like the idea of putting those check for human things occasionally where you have to click the bus or motorcycle. I think requiring a retina scan from the ORBB which is how World works (last I checked) - may be too intrusive for some. I do agree to find some way on bot reduction especially since those can change the perception when it comes to grants.

It’s almost 2 topics if someone has 3 characters it’s not a big deal. Some may have they them pronouns and can best express themselves as 2 characters. Others have an elaborate way they like to play with their characters for example the story of a father, a boy and his pet dog. Some times these different character can be used to create entertainment for visitors / onlookers. Lastly is the example of multiplayer game testing - streaming testing in which it’s essential to have extra character.

When it comes to 20 bots walking around though I’m with you if we can find a way that doesn’t cause people to hesitate in trying DCL for the first time etc. The ORBB could be cool to implement 1 person 1 vote some day. It could also have some purpose maybe individual land could require that.

I have to put need more info for now because I think there are plenty of scenarios for people to have 2+ players whether it’s necessary or just how they like to play DCL.

At least you say your opinion. It would be nice to know the reasons why someone who has nearly 800kVP would vote that they have specific concerns without sharing those concerns. At minimum a contribution could help the rest of us learn from their perspective.

I think there is many ways to implement it but the implementation itself is not supposed to limit on the access to the Decentraland. It should give an advantages as a badge in profile, or access to high rarity wearable airdrops or to give one day access to interaction with AI inside of DCL, like a world generation AI (because if we going to use API, it will require to spend tokens on it every time someone is using it, so when you have your daily limit of tokens which has been giving only to verified unique humans - you cannot log in with a second account and use tokens to talk with AI again) Also access to verified chat (when metaverse will be an agenda of the year again, chats will be filled with spams, bots, ads or some autonomous agents that will handle humanlike conversation to bring anyone to the point at the end, the point that it was trained on to bring to.

Thats a big topic for discussion about implementation and have to be voted on every aspect , because there will be people who will want to use alternatives with web2 connections or not having it at all.

Having multiple accounts i see as something that will stay in DCL, but its something that must have inner diffrences in accesses to some specific highly valued features , compared with a main verified account for example

But i personally believe that this integration will give a safety backpack with parachute at the moment , so the simple human badge after QR code scan with an World APP could be a good start for now for this time where we at, because we about to jump soon

Ok if it doesn’t limit access maybe I can change my vote better for you. I thought of a great analogy. Imagine young girl is playing in DCL and she creates a Barbie house, her character is like Barbie, create a Ken character. It’s a valid way to use the game. I think DCL means something different to everyone - some only speculative asset, next person a live concert venue or broadcasting network, next person shooting game, next is for NFTs, next is a place to host business meetings. You can almost imagine an individual as I’m saying some of those right? Because SDK7 is like a digital space time fabric that can mold to imagination of the creator cannot limit to 1 character only. Lastly game creators need to create characters to test for certain database states.
