Greetings, Decentraland Community,
We are thrilled to provide you with our latest community update regarding the progress of the DCL-Edit project, backed by the Decentraland grant. One month has passed since our last update, and we have some exciting developments to share.

  1. SDK7 Support: We are delighted to announce that support for Decentraland SDK7 is now available. This significant milestone enhances the capabilities of DCL-Edit, ensuring compatibility with the latest Decentraland advancements. Creators can now take advantage of the most up-to-date features and functionality.

  2. Bug Fixes: In response to our commitment to delivering a stable and reliable tool, we have dedicated considerable effort to address unexpected bugs. We are pleased to report that many of these issues have been resolved, further improving the overall user experience.

While our team has made substantial progress, we continue to face challenges that arise during the development process. These challenges serve as valuable learning experiences and motivate us to provide the best possible tool for the Decentraland community.

Next steps

Our next focus areas include:

  1. VS Code Extension: We are excited to announce that we are developing a VS Code extension that will enable you to open DCL-Edit directly from your code editor. This integration will streamline your workflow and make DCL-Edit even more accessible.

  2. Live Model Update: We are actively working on implementing live model updates, which will allow changes to models to be visible in real-time, eliminating the need for re-importing or reloading the scene. This feature will significantly simplify and accelerate scene building.
