Update Status: On Time
Project Health: :green_circle: On Track

Introduction

All of our teams have been making excellent progress and all of our teams are on track or ahead of schedule. Thank you so much to all of the Decentrand community who have helped us get to this point!

Highlights

Our 3D team planned out categories for each asset pack with a list of 3D assets & animations. Our first themed asset pack will be Sci-fi, including assets such as: Weapons, armor, structures, NPCs, vehicles, projectiles, avatar animations, NPC animations, pickups, platforms, checkpoints, UI elements, and more! Our 3D and animated assets will be available to the public through our Game Creator 3D Github as we progress and almost a dozen of our initial assets from the Sci-fi asset pack have already been uploaded for the community to try out and use in their own scenes!

Our coding team will be building in the public (per the Platform category) and one of the ways of doing so is by updating the Github regularly so anyone can see what we have created so far with full transparency. The coding team started organizing a Kanban early on and went straight to work. Our coding team has also reworked our data structure and system infrastructure design which is more aligned with the sdk Builder. This will future proof IWB with platform updates and features in the future. In addition, we are building a converter to take all players data and convert it to the new format auto on the back ends.

Our Game Creation team has been hard at work laying out how Actions, Triggers, and Counters will operate in our new IWB Game Creator. We have started designing and testing a variety of game templates for about half a dozen different types of games to the most basic variables. Our games creation team has constructed flow charts to visually layout how game functions flow and interact with each other for different types of games. Our game creation team has also submitted multiple Canny requests for ways Decentraland can add new features that will allow us to make our In World Builder toolset more robust and improve the building experience.

Our User Interface and User Experience team has been planning and discussing what our new game creator UI windows will be laid out and how they will flow to provide the best user experience possible. A word document was created to come up with a list of potential UI elements we will be adding for our game creator toolset so that we can decide on where each element may need to be to provide the best experience for builders and players alike.

Our Q&A Testing team has created a processes and procedures document with plans on how we will be testing our new Game Creator and In World Builder toolset updates. We plan on using a test server for our Game Creator before pushing changes and updates to our current live In World Builder server.

Project Management onboarded the teams to the team calendar and files. Setup initial meetings with the DAO GSS for feasibility and Milestones. Worked with the individual teams and team leaders to set up their regular team meetings and determine how often meetings would be necessary. Added important project and DAO due dates to the project calendar. Selected and set up Project Management software to suit the project’s needs. Set team Kickoff Meeting for UX. Attended all team meetings and took meeting notes to keep team members updated. Created an Onboarding document to help provide an important list of details on the software, systems and processes we will be using to accomplish our goals. Provided resources to each and all of the teams as needed to have a direction, goals and timeline. Organized teams into group chats for communication and team coordination.

Blockers

We do not have any known blockers at this time.

Next steps

Over the next month our 3D team will continue creating sci-fi themed 3D and animated assets. Our coding team will continue working on core backend services and core backend design. Game design will continue working with our coding team to design the functionality of our new game creator features. UI/UX will continue meeting with game design to decide on the best layouts and ways to implement our new features to provide the easiest user experience possible.

Hi Community!

Yesterday we had our Monthly Check-In with Lastraum K and Mease from In World Builder - No Code Game Creator. The project is on track. They showed progress, and we checked their GovApp update and their public roadmap. UX conceptualization and design are mostly 99% complete, but as they are an agile team, they will continue making improvements as they go. They also shared their GitHub, which is accessible for everyone, and we started counting their commits as metrics for the platform category.

Additionally, they made progress on the asset creation core system architecture, core back-end services, and core scene code design. They also presented their QA strategy. As for the testing session, we are not going to conduct a testing session via GSS since they are doing live coding and testing every week. Maybe in the future, we can host something for them.

We also discussed an official blog for them. It’s under their review, and as soon as we get feedback, we will start the process for foundation review. They presented a Google Sheet with their financial distribution detailed, where comments over the cells indicate which payments have already been made. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tbD62fKlUIM8xrdXPqpnxQCfEYPhqg4e5Upvy5pxFC8/edit#gid=0 Where the FUNDS DISCLOSED for this UPDATE where
$24,400 but the QA part hasn’t been paid for now. You can read more in their last update Decentraland DAO

I don’t know if it this project was meant to be exclusive, but as I know I have not been allowed to enter the Last Slice (or Lastraum’s) Discord for questions.
