[DAO:329323f] Are Polls a good way of drawing Community attention to a topic?

One of the issues I see here, is that barely anyone is appraised of initiatives from anyone else, until the motions are actually started.
And before most of us have a chance to form an idea on the subject at hand, the time to vote already draws near.

And I wonder just how many large VP holders don’t even know about the conversations and decisions which take place in this space !

I am hoping the results of this poll will bring some clarity in this domain.

  • Yes, I don’t pay attention to simple Forum posts
  • No, Polls are meant for something else
  • It doesn’t matter, I just vote at random anyway
  • My quantum twin never comes here
  • Invalid question/options

Polls is the main thing for VP…
I’m still traumatized by some rando calling it “Voting Participation”

Polls populate in the discord channel driving engagement.

Polls are a great way to discuss a topic, but it shouldn’t be through governance. Lots of discussions happen through the Forum and Discord channels. Canny is also a great way to bring an issue to the forefront.

I think it’s ok if polls have attention and I think people should see these as just opinion polls rather than serious governance proposals.

But I think it would be better if we can do polls without a “governance” aspect. Just the forum implementing poll feature.
