Should the scene located at -2,-66 be added to the Point of Interest list?
Description
I’d like to introduce you to a collection of tokens minted during the reign of Louis XIV (1643-1715). At present, 35 copper, brass and silver tokens are displayed in 3D. Each token is accompanied by a descriptive sheet.
I am there with Mimsy DH, if any magic didn’t get a POI then nothing else can get a POI. All POI should be removed from DCL even genesis plaza - dude was right - nothing is interesting
Thank you kindly for sharing such lovely treasures and with so much history.
I am not sure that this would fall under the current expectation of a POI in that there isn’t significant traffic and you have not held events; however, the definition of a POI is changing. A recent poll passed recommending that we can create categories for POIs. One of those suggested categories is Art POIs defined as permanent installations that are valuable for their artistic merit, independent of events.
Do you have any additional or future plans for this location other than the current installation?
Hello,
If you’re asking me “Do you have any other plans for this place than the current installation?”, the answer is yes. That will come with time. Normally 20 additional tokens are planned for March.
Hi ! Thank you for your interest in this Proposal for making this exhibition of French heritage an Art POI.
The installation is indeed primarily intended for the display of these historical tokens, that were used as an alternative to fiat, and minted long before their cryptographic counterparts.
Further development is being planned for the scene; but there is also the possibility of a “museum opening” kind of event, where outfits of the Renaissance could be distributed as wearables over a period of time.
A big argument that we wish to present for making this a POI is that it showcases one of the most important features at the disposal of 3D content makers for adding realism to scenes, and which is grossly under-used in Decentraland scenes in general: Bump-Mapping.
It makes it quite easy to recreate the interplay from skylight reflections against the asperities and imperfections of any material in display.
