Is there someone in the community who can help Decentraland get verified by Twitter? What can we do as a group to support this cause and make sure that DCL gets its account recognized? I’m not an expert on the Twitter verification process, but it’d be great if everyone could spread the word about how much love is out here for Decentraland!

I agree with this, makes no sense that Decentral Games is verified and the official Decentraland twitter isn’t!
I think this is a great idea, so I did some digging and I’ll share whatever info I find. It’s very important that users need to be able to easily identify the official @Decentraland account.
As of May 2021, anyone can now apply for verification — but not everyone will be approved.
Twitter’s new criteria specify that accounts from these six categories are eligible for verification:
- Companies, brands and organizations
- Entertainment (includes digital content creators)
- News organizations and journalists
- Sports and esports (gaming)
- Government and political figures
- Activists, organizer and other influential individuals
Seems DCL would fit into the first two eligible criteria so lets continue.
The updated verification policy also includes a new definition of a “complete account” (required to get verified). A complete account is now one that has all of the following:
- A verified email address or phone number
- A profile image
- A display name
Again, seems easy enough. So next let’s look into just HOW DCL would go about this.

Apparently people from the Foundation have been trying to get it verified for 6 months already. Some people reached out to me personally offering to “accelerate the process” for a fee – I’d never pay for something like this; it seems crooked as hell.
I think this is getting done by someone in the foundation…
Yea that is absolutely ridiculous. If there is anything the community can do to help encourage Twitter to verify you guys, let us know! I’m sure we would be more than happy to band together to get this done. Just need to know if we can help in any way.
P.S. glad that account that was impersonating you for like 2 years finally got the ban hammer!
