Community Meet Up #9 Recap
Date: June 24, 2026
Speakers:
Topics:
- April and May Status Updates
- Buildathon Community Survey
- Arena FPS Battle Playtest
Summary
This session focused on catching up with the community on Regenesis Labs’ April and May progress, while also starting the conversation around the upcoming Buildathon.
We also talked about Regenesis Grants Season 1 entering its active execution phase, with first grant payments processed, as well as financial updates including funds moved to the operational wallet and MANA swept for grant coverage.
Another big topic was the upcoming Buildathon. The current direction is a two-week build window focused on mobile optimization and social experiences, with show-and-tell events, community build-along sessions, and workshops to support participants throughout the process.
During the session, we shared a live community survey to help shape the event. The survey covered possible participation types, motivations, reward structures, AI integration, support formats, build duration, judging preferences, and different types of social experiences the community would like to see. Based on live feedback, official Decentraland merch, subscription tools, and additional prize options were added as possible rewards.
To wrap things up, we playtested Arena FPS Battle by Matt/ BigBro, a mobile-optimized shooting game with team battle, free-for-all, capture the flag modes, first- and third-person view, grenades, shields, and multiple weapons. Some connection issues prevented a full multiplayer session, but the solo gameplay was streamed successfully and the game already looked smooth and visually polished. Since mobile optimization had only started that same day, we hope to feature the game again in a future meet-up.
Thanks to everyone who joined, shared thoughts, answered the survey, asked questions and helped us test in-world! ![]()
