Hi! it was already an issue in the Marketplace. It was fixed in this PR. @cristiandcaf do you mind send me a message?

Just to give a little more context Nachoā€™s post above on what went wrong, it was a combination of three thingsā€¦

Last week a refactor to use shared libraries among dapps introduced a bug: only when updating a listing, the price of the active listing is autocompleted in the price input, and after the refactor this value was localized (that means that it adds the dots or commans on the thousand units, ie: 9500 => 9,500). This behavior should only be used when displaying values, but not in an input. The problem was that when the userā€™s system language is spanish, the localization converts 9500 into 9.500 (see dot instead of comma). And when that value is parsed and converted into a number by the browser, it becomes 9.5, so this was issue number 1.

The marketplace doesnā€™t let you enter more than two digits when you enter a price, so if you try to input 9.999 it will fix it to 9.99, this is to avoid the confusion between decimals and thousands. But there was an issue where trailing zeros would not be fixed, that way 9.500 was not converted into 9.50, which would have make it more obvious to the user and prevent going further. This was issue number 2.

So the user changed 9.500 into 9.000 and finally, thereā€™s the confirmation step on which the price that will be used for the listing is shown, and the user has to type it to continue. This modal showed the parsed priced (removing trailing zeros) in the text where it says ā€œYou are about to list on sale for 9 MANAā€. But the placeholder of the input would expect you to type the raw number (with all the decimals), so to continue the user had to type ā€œ9.000ā€ coming from last step which is 9 with extra trailing zeros (as shown by @Eibriel above). If the confirmation modal wouldā€™ve asked for the parsed number (without zeros) the user would have to enter 9 to continue and that wouldā€™ve probably stopped them from moving forward. This was issue number 3.

Issues number 1 and 2 have been fixed and deployed yesterday, so this problem would not happen again regardless of the language of the system of any user, and even if users willingly try to type something like ā€œ9.500ā€ it will stop them at ā€œ9.50ā€

Issue number 3 is being worked on now to have an extra safety net in the confirmation step so users donā€™t have to type any unnecessary 0 decimal into de confirmation modal, although with issue number 2 being fixed now they would never have to confirm a three decimals value anyway.

What happened to you was an issue in the Decentraland Marketplace. Therefore, I would like to find the best way to compensate you for that.

Hope this gets resolved, voting no simply because of the amount requested and sincerely this gets resolved through whatever means possible. If another proposal is to be created to allow this to happen, Iā€™ll be happy to take part in the vote and show my support.

Honestly an awful situation and wish the the best of luck in this process of recovery!

" I want my misadventure to be known also on social networks, since I have many influencer friends in Europe. I didnā€™t think a company like Decentraland would behave this way towards their users / customers. Anyway, since I lost this $ 7000 for a NOT MY mistake from their system, I think it is right that they also pay with their reputation then, which in this market I believe is everything. "

@Nacho is trooper. Throwing that kinda shade when the community at large is actually good people trying to get to the bottom of a issue. Lets all remember this dude was also in the market changing prices anyway. I hope since it is code error you get compensated but man youll never be getting a yes vote from me for anything after that bs. Ive banged heads with many people in this Dao but ive never threatened to destroy its user base or reputation.

Sometimes the only way to be heard and considered is to raise the tone of the conversations! I lost my land for a mistake not mine! Iā€™m just asking to get my land back, or another land or alternatively what I spent (3695 mana at todayā€™s value would be fine at this point). I hope to solve the situation asap.
Put yourself in the shoes, what would you do?
And precisely because this is a beautiful united community, everyone should also safeguard common interests.

Thank you very much Nacho and thanks to all the community for the support.
I would not have thought I could solve such a situation, much less in such a short time.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Im ready to support a grant with the right amount as Eibriel informed.

A problem with the platform: the comma/dots are highly misleading, due to diffrent people use it diffrent ways in the world. But againā€¦ signing and approving transactions 3 times should be enough to these mistakes donā€™t happenā€¦

But @cristiandcaf make a new grant, and iā€™ll support it so it matches current MANA/USD prices.
