Moderation
January was overall a quiet month considering the holiday season that usually tends to bring activity down the first two weeks. As expected on that period, conversations were mostly friendly and constructive. Nonetheless, a single episode on Jan 27th led to some displinary actions having to be made. Also, the moderation role just kicked off a transition process on which the community will decide on the path of how to renew the role.
- Number of time-outs applied: 3
- Number of bans applied: 3
By changing our DMs onboarding strategy due to security concerns, we managed to onboard 23 users during January in our #Welcome channel, in order to keep comms public and avoid any potential misthought about scam or impersonation. This has had a positive impact in our bi-weekly onboarding calls were some of those new members got a chance to receive a first glimpse of what our DAO is about.
Cybersecurity
The #cybersecurity-awareness channel has been actively updating the community about various cyber and social engineering attacks. Additionally, the FS has developed and shared a Web3 security awareness and information guide with a poster that includes best practices for securing digital assets, helping users to safeguard themselves against such attacks and scams.
