Should the following Tier 1: up to $1,500 USD in MANA, one-time payment grant in the Community category be approved?

This looks like a low amount of money for a high amount of articles, so I’d like to support it. But before I do, I need to dig deeper as to the “why” would this be a good investment into Decentraland.

As a result we expect that a big number of talented DAO builders will learn about Decentraland DAO and join the ecosystem.

I’m wondering if this means to join the Decentraland ecosystem, or the Decentraland DAO ecosystem? One thing that’s concerning are the number of users who come to the DAO requesting funds who seem to have little to no experience in Decentraland and are asking for money (the church for $240K, renovation of a historical home in California, buying seeds for communities in need). I’m not sure where some of these organizations find the Decentraland DAO to ask for these grants, but my hesitation is: would these articles be an advertisement to come ask for funds from the DAO to people with no attachment to Decentraland?

That being said, I will probably vote yes, because maybe any new eyes on our DAO is a good thing, and we’ll just deal with random proposals as they come. I just want to make sure we consider whether the why is in the best interest of Decentraland.

Hi @Canessa!

It’s important to note that the publication will not advertise anything, but we see here an opportunity for a win-win cooperation. DAO Times will be able to learn about your DAO deeply and educate our audience about your experience, which is our target and win. Your win is that many builders, who will meet with Decentraland DAO via our publication, will join your ecosystem in one or another way.

About concerns that new users will have little to no experience in Decentraland, I think that all the DAO contributors had no such experience at some moment. If they will want to stay, they will learn. We believe that “fresh blood” is vital for any health organisation.

About cringe opportunists who request tons of resources for suspicious ventures, there are always will be such people, and DAO self-management systems are also exist to filter out such offers.

Thanks DAOTimes, voting yes, I wish you luck in your articles.
