The Council is ineffective because its decisions can be unilaterally blocked by the DAO Committee, which can withhold signatures even when directed by the elected Council, overriding the community’s will and rendering the Council powerless to drive progress. This governance flaw led Council member Maraoz to resign, stating he could not serve on a body that remains subject to obstruction by a legacy bureaucracy.
Is it time to disband the ineffective DAO Council and transition to a leaner, more accountable governance model?
Why would the Council be ineffective because of the DAO Committee? How would the DAO Committee block the Council’s actions? If the funds are transferred, the Council can execute them immediately.
I want to remind everyone again that we couldn’t transfer the funds without a second proposal because:
1 - The proposal did not make an exception to the rule that prevents taking funds from the DAO.
2 - The proposal did not explicitly state that the DAO Committee should transfer the funds.
On top of that, there was consensus between both parties during a Discord call—except for one Council member who didn’t join the group call and instead threatened us with legal action.
We have legal responsibility over those funds, and we could face consequences if we act improperly.
@JasonX, it seems that you have not been properly educated so I am going to help you out,
You have some decent points, but I can’t find a way to respect your opinion when you still use words like*
