Description

Facemoon deserves funding for several reasons that will significantly contribute to the development of the Decentraland platform. Here are the key points:

  1. Diversification of Experiences:

Facemoon envisions providing a variety of unique experiences, from themed parties to NFT art exhibitions and audiovisual events. This will broaden the activities in Decentraland, attracting a wider audience and keeping the platform dynamic and exciting.

  1. Promotion of NFT Culture:

By showcasing NFT art exhibitions and thematic wearables, Facemoon will contribute to the promotion and appreciation of NFT culture in Decentraland. This will enrich the community with creative and valuable content.

  1. Encouraging Collaborations:

Facemoon aims to collaborate with artists and web 3 projects, strengthening the network of creators in Decentraland and fostering a collaborative culture. These partnerships can generate new opportunities and synergies within the platform.

  1. Attraction of New Users:

Hosting thematic events from the most iconic eras in history, complete with representative scenes and wearables, aims to not only entertain the community but also attract new users. This will enrich the user base and encourage active participation.

  1. Long-Term Commitment:

With a one-year track record, Facemoon demonstrates a long-term commitment to Decentraland. Funding will allow the continuity and expansion of its initiatives, providing stability and sustained growth to the platform.

In summary, Facemoon presents itself as a comprehensive project that not only addresses specific issues, such as diversifying experiences and promoting NFT culture, but also brings substantial benefits to Decentraland by fostering collaborations, attracting new users, and positioning it as a vibrant destination in the metaverse. The proposal reflects an attractive strategy to enrich the platform and establish it as a prominent destination in the metaverse.

I think it is a project worthy of being financed, a very tight budget and I have already said it many times, but I repeat it: the platform has few events, I know that currently people are worried about how the funds will be managed but we cannot be careless either, every week that passes we see how users decrease.

Voting Yes! I enjoyed a few Facemoon events I’ve attended over the last few months. Meryshark has been an active community member and has invested their own funds into the platform and our creators. The themes sound intriguing, as well as the # of parties per month.

Compared to other 60k-120K grants throwing parties with barely any DAU or community engagement, this budget is MORE THAN REASONABLE. I’m actually surprised by the negative support on this proposal, compared to other active grants received in the past for subpar performance.

Best of luck!

Yes, you are the small creator that I believe we should fund while fixing the platform. I Like the budget and look forward to what you will create.
All the best,

I have seen MeryShark on this platform for quite a while now, always with a positive and loving attitude. She is always there to support fellow community members and has never asked for a thing in return, Everyone that knows Mery loves Mery. I have been here to witness MerySharks journey on Decentraland, from wearable collector to god tier wearable flipper to launching Facemoon and using the proceedings to reinvest into Decentraland so that Facemoon can have some land to call home.

I see no better way to use DAO funds then to help a small creator build something meaningful on our favorite platform.

Good Luck Mery

Hi, DAO Committee (@HPrivakos @Tobik @rizk), we recommend creating this vesting contract starting on the 1st of March with a duration of 7 months instead of the original 6 months requested by the grantee.

After our analysis and onboarding meeting with MewryShark#2c5b, we decided it is best to extend for one more month in order to use March as month 0 for pre-production and April as month 1 for the first month with events as she planned. Thanks."

Hi All!
Yesterday, we conducted the onboarding session with Cara Luna from Facemoon, welcoming her to her first time in the DCL Grant’s Program. During the session, we shared the benefits and obligations of the program, as well as providing an explanation about the DAO.

We discussed the development process for the upcoming parties and raised several questions. It was emphasized that at least one artist should be paid per month, depending on the budget, with additional components such as videos and movies planned for other parties. Given that this is a solo project, we proposed extending the project’s duration to seven months. This allows for March to serve as a preproduction month (Month 0), with the scene opening in April (Month 1) and concluding in September (Month 6).

Additionally, concerns were expressed about the potential overlap of preproduction with the execution and post-production of the previous month’s events. We’re seeking further information on the schedule and execution dynamics for preproduction, production, and post-production for each event and each month.

To address these concerns and delve deeper into the project’s roadmap, we’ve scheduled another meeting for next Thursday. During this meeting, we aim to explore questions such as the production process, event details, commencement dates, and encourage the grantee to learn about DCL metrics for future metric reporting.

Today, we had our Roadmap Checking Meeting with Mary from Facemoon, and the project is ready to start. We requested a 7-month vesting contract to assist the grantee in organizing their events, starting in April. The grantee will create a more detailed roadmap for each month, and we will help them organize it to ensure the grant’s success. During the meeting, the grantee inquired about compatibility with SDK6, as they are currently working with it. We granted permission to start with SDK6, but requested an upgrade to SDK7 by at least the second month (May), given that it is an in-world content grant. Additionally, she expressed her intention to use the server cost to hire more artists, as other members from the community will share their server with her. We agreed to assist her in determining how to track returning user metrics. Please remember to do your first update on the GovApp at the end of March and also keep Notion with evidence, specially remember to take metrics per each event on April. See you next month
