Introduction
This month we focused on mainnet release and tournament mode for Halloween.
Highlights
As you know, CROSSVERSE has gone through a challenging path due to the freezing of the grant. We launched more than a year ago, and after a few months, the funding was halted due to the unpreparedness to release smart wearables. We had to somehow keep the team together and expenses were paid by DAPPCRAFT. We conducted tests on our own version of Decentraland at play.crossverse.world, where smart wearables were enabled by default. This task was not included in our original plan and roadmap.
After more than 6 months our funding was restored, we had to shift priorities and create a playable P2P version. We had to change the roadmap and sacrifice the Laboratory Hub and perform the SDK7 migration, which was not part of our original plans and roadmap.
We focused on PvP tournaments and were pleasantly surprised by the positive impact this had on player engagement during alpha testing, an outcome we hadn’t anticipated. Considering the limited demand from the client side of CROSSVERSE (traffic customers willing to pay), we decided it would be more prudent to allocate our resources to further develop this aspect at the expense of the client part. Nonetheless, we are committed to working on the client side, but it will be pursued in the next phase of our project.
We organized a tournament for Halloween and released it on the mainnet.
Next, we need to improve PvP and grow the player base. For this, we ask to unfreeze the remaining $10k of the grant, as was originally agreed.
