The original proposal stated that it would “…not allow the Platform grant to be used to fund private business enterprises.”
What defines a private business enterprise in this context? How will this be implemented or enforced?

Unless your private business is Decentraland or the Decentraland DAO it would seem difficult form a Platform Grant to benefit it.
Platform grantees create tools and applications that extend the power of the Decentraland platform or provide alternative ways to explore Decentraland’s ecosystem.
So are we saying grant deliverables cannot benefit outside organizations?
Or are we saying grant funds cannot go towards outside organizations?
Option 1 eliminates the option of the DAO doing a NASA/SpaceX sort of contract where the technology built by private business enterprise drastically reduces costs for the public sector, and they therefore work together out of mutual benefit to one another.
Option 2 means what…we can only hire individuals? Are non-profit groups okay? Can an individual or a non-profit hire a for-profit company for assistance? What if someone is a single-member LLC? Is that a business or an individual?
“Private business” is extremely vague terminology, as whether or not you’re a business ultimately depends on how you do your taxes. Speaking for the US of course. Which begs the question - is someone going to be in charge of auditing and enforcing how every grant recipient is filing their taxes?
Wouldn’t the candidate for such a position need intimate knowledge of the tax code…for every country on Earth?
Oooh, the irony…
If Polygonal Mind wants to apply for a grant to make a better version of the FTUE that’s fine.
If someone wants to apply for a platform grant to do their private business that hosts video streams without open-sourcing the code and building it in a way that is contributing to the platform in a foundational sense, that’s not okay.
Anyone who’s paycheck is on the line here should not be voting… it is a direct conflict of interest to vote on a proposal that will result in a financial gain for you.
I don’t feel like you actually read my response or understand the context of the vote.
2 days remaining for this vote to end. The tally looks like this:
8.5M votes were added to the winning option to prevent actors from swinging the vote at the eleventh hour.

Is Polygonal Mind is not a private business when they’re creating something for the platform then?

Is there an example of this happening before? Open-sourcing your code is already a requirement of the platform category. If a business builds some external tool for Decentraland, and open sources the project, but also asks for money to run their own main node so people can actually use it without having to stand up their own server, does that count as the DAO funding private business enterprise?
Or are we just going to keep LARPing as government officials and pretending like regulations in the real world don’t require definitions?
Is it safe to assume you are going to delete this like you did the tweet you made about it last week that got no engagement?
Are you going to once again resort to personal insults and attacks instead of explaining your ideas like an adult?
as always, just responding in kind
Do not allow the Platform grant to be used to fund private business enterprises.
Is if safe you assume you are unwilling or unable to provide an answer on what this is supposed to mean?
oh you are the hero we need.
I thought this was an alt account created to complain and fud.
