[DAO:11384af] Fair voting in Decentraland

by 0xa4fe5ae07b33ca246757e747bedc6575f1b07fda (Move)

Should the problem/opportunity outlined be refined and taken to the next level?

Problem Statement

Decentraland is at a critical stage in its existence, and we need new solutions to ensure that the platform becomes a equitable and inclusive platform.

Proposed Solution

I see the voting process
in three stages:
-the first is the votes of $mana.
-the second stage is the votes of land owners.
-the third stage is the votes of dcl names.

Target Audience/Customer Base

Thus we have three parties (Mana, GenesisCity, DclWorlds) and each has the right to represent its interest.

Why is this relevant now?

Many people in the community are unhappy with the current voting system.

Can you help me understand why it makes sense to segregate the voter type by stage?

For some - Decentraland is a $mana token with which they speculate on the market. For others, it is a GenesisCity in which they live and create. I know for sure that most of the creators are not rich speculators with millions, but small or medium-sized holders of mostly land, names or wearables. So I think that we need to create three voting chambers that will have equal shares of VP. In this case we will always have three equal votes.

Okay, so you see it sort of like creating three branches of government?

This is community empowerment.

I’m putting a no. I think the solution is use one wallet, one vote or limit VP, fire all delegates. By giving more VP for more money it allowed an attack vector by Mark Zuckerberg, Nifty Island and other competitors. To isolate we need to strive towards one person one vote - better yet use the orb of world coin
