Thank you @AndreusAs I’m waiting
Hey @AndreusAs is there any progress?
Hey, still waiting confirmation.
This is the first time that this has happened to me, would we just lose the mana and wearable?
If it somehow doesnt pass legal () he’ll be forced to change it and it probably wont’ be anywhere near as good as the original.
They rarely diabled collection; just put thrm on hold till it has changes.
Idk for sure tho.
I was wearing the jacket + linked wearable when I guess it was removed and now I’m stuck in default gear
Hey, @AndreusAs It’s been almost a week and still no progress. I shared all the necessary information why did it take so long?
Hey!
Unfortunately, I’m not part of the legal team, hence can’t tell you the details of why they’re still reviewing the info you sent. Usually they let us curators know if a collection is good to go or not - once I have such a resolution, I’ll post here.
Cheers!
You also submitted a mesh ripped from Ready Player Me catalogue no?
The multicolored lizard onesie thing?
I imagine you have a license for that too?
Yes I have a license for this costume. Approved by the team.
This costume was re-approved 1 day later but now it’s been 1 week and it’s still under review.
I’ve reached out to Ready Player Me and will have confirmation soon, cheers for waiting!
this collection has nothing to do with “Ready Player Me”.
No, this thread pertains to the submission which looks to be ripped model files from a game. Confirming whether you lied about having permission from Ready Player Me to use their art for sale distribution and profit gives us a frame of reference on your other claims of IP license rights. If they confirm you did infact lie, you have committed theft. Wearable submitters should not be celebrated for stealing from other artists, in fact it is often a point of contention used by those suspicious of NFTs and examples should be made so other creators don’t think it is an acceptable practice. I’ll let you know if they confirm your exclusive permission to resell their assets for profit
No, I mean, please let’s talk about this here. If I did not have the right to use this product for commercial purposes, my product would not have been resold.
Here is fine! Best everyone see what the situation is etc, transparency and all that.
As you can see you do not have permission, they allow people to download their models but not to redistribute for commercial profit.
As you have lied about this I’d recommend fellow curators to freeze previous KingX branded wearables under suspicion of theft until you can prove IP license on anything you submit henceforth.
Will post thread for curator discussion and report back here;
Wearable collectors, please think twice before funding art theft, it is a major point of contention in the game development, artist community and incidents like this make it worse. It isn’t “being smart”, it is flagrant theft and makes blockchain tech and DCL as a platform look shady and become a talking point for disuading more onboarding. Big love to the community for spotting this; @michi @NikkiFuego @Doki
Hey @Malloy I have the right not only to download, but also to commercial use. I proved this to legal@decentraland.org at the time. My intention is not to steal, it is absolutely unacceptable for you to say that. If I had not used this product for commercial purposes, my product would not have been reapproved. Kind regards…
You could write an email, using a google docs template with a Tesla logo on saying you had permission, signed off by Elon Musk but it wouldn’t be true. We have heard directly from the ReadyPlayerMe team that you don’t have permission to download and redistribute on another platform for commercial profits.
As a curator that cares about this platform it is the absolute definition of acceptable for me to say this after having heard directly from the IP owners.
By all means, if you’re concerned about this damaging your reputation, take me to court on the grounds that my comments are damaging your profits from the distribution of stolen assets.
I’ll post back here with what the curators unanimously decide to do regarding this case. Thank you for your patience.
R.I.P. rips
Ripping from other games is never a good idea.
