We came across this person publishing a wearable which has a ’ OM ’ symbol on the bottom of a shoe. According to the beliefs of Hindus, Om is a sacred spiritual symbol in Indic religion. Here is the link so you can have the idea how pious is the Om symbol for the people who belongs to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism - Om - Wikipedia
Here is the wearable link mentioned above, We would like to ask the person to remove the Om symbol from the shoe as this violates the acceptance terms of wearable according to the docs where it is clearly mentioned "Contain cruel or hateful imagery that could harm, harass, promote or condone violence against, or that is primarily intended to incite hatred of, animals, or individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, nationality, disability, gender, age, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity"
Oh Dang What! Isn’t this your symbol @michi
Personally don’t think there is any kind of hate or harassment it’s just a symbol.
Curious to see what comes of this.
Looks like a 30 to me
this symbol isn’t mine but as they stated is a symbol of OM, represents a sacred sound.
These shoes were designed to represent the chakras and intended to include all the colours and symbols. They are called “Core Balance” because they are meant to inspire a balance within digital self and also references for this placement when designing:
No disrespect, hate or harm was intended in this design and in fact was created as a homage to yoga and spiritual self while playfulness of the parkour culture in Decentraland. @Amrapali I would never intend to offend or disrespect anyone’s beliefs, can I confirm the USAGE of this is offensive to you or the placement?
There is no religious intent here I’m not religious at all my friend, @Amrapali I look at the chakra as vibes and different frequencies as the name say
While there is obviously no harmful intent I think this will continue to be a problem because it IS on the bottom so you’re technically stepping on it. Maybe a switch to the side of the shoe would clear up any future altercation.
Most of the community knows @michi is a great guy and asset to DCL, but newcomers won’t know that, and I can see this subject being brought up again and again.
i dont really see this keep being a problem i just think it got the wrong attention from whereever this this guys first post so it looks like hes coming from another account from me to attack the product but whatever you guys see fit is cool with me
