@HPrivakos – Believe you are still misunderstanding that the DG DAO would earn 0 MANA from this proposal. We would not stake the LP that the DAO provides. So the Decentraland community would stake and earn MANA and we would not suggest that they refund it.
I think that play to earn works as a marketing user acquisition campaign, which results have been working so far.
Its true that there were some unbalanced variables within the game which lead ICE price to decline, but the team is working on that right now and over these past months, DG have proven its ability to deliver.
I also think that decentraland is profiting from DG activities, media exposure, and user acquisition, which opens the door for a lot of new partnerships and companies wanting to jump into the metaverse.
Competitors on the metaverse space are rising fast and i think that the requested grant represents only a small percentage of the treasury compared to how much of the DAU DG represents to DCL.
I hope that everyone here can reconsider this and lead to a win-win solution. We are on this together, if DG goes well, DCL ends up with more users and more partnerships, if DG goes bad, DCL will probably go bad too, lets be honest, who else is in DCL with this kind of quality of games, partnerships and exposure?
Only a side note,
Crypto exchanges which on boarding process is much simpler assign a valuation cost of $ 700 per user.
DG has drived into DCL more than 14K DAU which would mean over 1mm in valuation.
At the same time, all of the media appearances mention DCL, a lot of bloomberg articles, conferences, they all speak about decentraland.

It’s not at all about maintaining any DAUs. It’s a proposal that would benefit both DCL and DG. It benefits DCL partly because it benefits DG (because DG DAUs=DCL DAUs. Even if some of those users don’t go around the rest of DCL, DG still onboards them to DCL). Maybe you don’t see the extent to which DG contributes to DCL, but it’s quite big.
I’m not really sure why you think this is an effective defense for being accused of promoting, and teaching, systemic corruption to exploit the DCL community while trying to degrade and belittle the project that has onboarded most of the new users in the last 6-months.

This is just the first example of someone who came to DCL for DG and then started building a community and investing the ICE they earned into Mana and making wearables.
It is a disingenuous position to argue that ICE Poker players and the DG community do not engage with and support DCL as a whole.
Many people involved with, or who own ICE wearables would consider themselves DCL community members first.
Any person commenting on this vote has the same chance to be rewarded from this proposal. Anyone can add to the liquidity pool and be rewarded. own xDG will not have any impact on your ability to do that.

The Decentraland DAO literally has a 200 Million treasury for ecosystem grants. This proposal requests only 0.5% for a successful project that has provided support to this community and represents over 60% of daily active traffic.
Do you not think that other metaverses, especially upcoming possible metaverses like the Otherside, would support DG and help it grow if DG was providing over half of their traffic? Don’t be so short sided, or else you may wake up one day and realize that you could have stopped DG from being poached but could not see the forest for the trees. If DG cannot be supported by the very community it is helping to flourish, what would be the point of staying? It starts feeling like a one-way relationship.
No one is holding a gun to your head but sometimes the blunt truth needs to be said. DCL without DG would be similar to a computer without a RAM. Either we can accept that like adults or we can become emotional and argue our emotions.
Facts: It takes significantly longer to develop a project in this environment. DG by far represents the majority of DCL’s active users. Many of you would not have businesses in this environment without DG’s presence. Many brand names that DG will onboard are not coming here because of DCL. They are coming here because of DG’s userbase. DCL has been a detriment to onboarding for DG, yet, DG still pushes forward and will continue to do so. Those arguing we are focusing on mobile are shortsighted. Mobile is yet another tool to bring in even more users to DCL metaverse. Ice Poker metaverse is the primary focus. Fact, MANA receives significant support from DG users.
DCL is making significant strides as a result of its partnership with DG. If you cannot support DG, I do not see any reason for DG to continue its support of DCL. That is not a threat, but my personal opinion. I also believe DG owes many of its accomplishments to DCL. It works both ways. We have a symbiotic relationship with similar goals and concerns. We are asking for your assistance through this amazing journey. Don’t be shortsighted. For better or worse we are in this together.
@0xMiles I am changing my vote to YES. Some people at DG explained to me more on this process and I understand it a little more. I still think you guys should be also requesting funds to expand innovation for you and the team as well on top of the players so we can continue learn from your guys successes to grow Decentraland’s utility. So hope to see that in the future as well.

@AaronLeupp @0xMiles my vote is still no might be yes with these amendments: DG should consider including a DCL challenge as part of the ICE daily challenges, like checking in to wisher vodka, Roustans or Babydolls, dice masters, etc This will force the ICE community to explore and interact with the DCL community and not just the casino.

I think you make valid points, however, I don’t think your conclusions are accurate. I will talk from personal experience because I cannot talk for others. I had no idea what DCL even was until I was introduced to DG. Once I started playing Ice Poker, I started visiting other venues. It started to become like an adventure into the great unknown. I loved it. Most recently, I played the Megacube game (I apologize if I am messing up names, I have never been good with names). I have also been searching for some new outfits because I want to be creative and have a look that represents who I am in the DCL metaverse. Overall, my point is, DG members already venture out into DCL. Forcing DG to change the mechanics of its game just so they can receive a grant seems unreasonable. The MANA rewards will only be able to be earned if you stake the LP. not something that is able to be earned in game, per se. Anyone is free to stake in the LP. This is not just about DG, or DCL, or the community. this is a net benefit for everyone.

If wasnt for Friends ive made and being a ice wearable owner id probably bail on decentraland. DG is indeed making a mobile use case. They have literally said nothing about leaving decentraland. I dont know where people are getting that bs. The mobile app is a another way for people to play its a expansion to DG not a we are leaving the metaverse. They own over 1000 plots, host events multiple times and even hired Decentraland Users who are music artist. Add on top the multiple nft projects they collab with who do bring in people. I dont know where people are getting the bs that DG is leaving and not a benefactor to Decentraland. Half the current user base is Ice players and Owners. To be fair tho DG did make mistakes with exploits. They did imo pump out to many wearables.One hand washes the other As a guild owner i would like to see more players participate in events. Giving them a way to stake ice for mana is a way to get those players into the economy and into the dao. Some will some wont it will however also boost those of us who are invested in Decentraland tho as There is a percent of Ice owners and Players who are already a part this eco system. DG is a benefactor to Decentraland a lot more then people are giving it credit so im vote yes. This is a one time thing tho DG needs to get its act together. First of all, why is the “biggest” entity not required to follow the same protocol as the rest of the community? Do those “60%” actually go anywhere else other than ICE poker tables? Do they spend money in the wearable market? Do they create themselves? Are they actively contributing to the community outside of ICE? Genuine question not trying to roast anyone. It’s 2022 and web3 there are ways to prove these metrics. If you can measure user percentage you can segment traffic.
How are you skipping the cliff and vesting mechanisms clearly listed in the Docs and DAO policies? While other projects that are directly related to community members take months to enact/complete?
How is a POLL being used to get GRANT money? What’s the point of grant request then?

I get that DG should be recognized for bringing players into the space, but let’s not forget that a ton of people just lost a ton of money on the recent decline so asking for more money just seems weird when @0xMiles brags about treasury worth and validity of what the team can accomplish.
I truly don’t understand why they are asking for money from Decentraland, when they have their own treasury which (as it states on their website) currently is 24.5M.
I don’t think that ICE players will hold MANA and participate in DAO, they have pretty good experience with dumping - chips, ICE, xDG, Ice wearables, you name it and they will dump it. If they wouldn’t be doing that, I wouldn’t be reading this proposal.
Besides both points above - this proposal is too late. At the time of writing ICE is 0.0156$, but I think this proposal should have come when ICE was still around 0.08$ and maybe then 1M$ MANA could actually help, but now I think it is in a too big hole. Maybe this proposal will pass, but I don’t think that 1M$ MANA will make any difference, because as I said - it is too late.
