Can we change the current VP from zero to 1 VP so everyone in the community can vote and it count. Not everyone has money but they should be included as part of the community. whales pretty much can pass a proposal by themselves, So 1 VP shouldn’t be a big deal.
No. This is an attack vector. If accounts by default had 1 VP, spinning of millions of addresses would be a trivial way to swing a vote. In addition, snapshot works by calculating VP already allocated to addresses. You cannot assign VP after a proposal has been submitted. This means you’d have to know a priori who would be getting assigned 1 VP. All of that sounds very web2 and would be gamed with code and social engineering in no time.
Also, Mana is around $1, which can be acquired on polygon with a trivial gas fee. Everyone who is voting should make it a point to have at least 1 VP. If there was a ever a time to acquire some VP its now.
How are you going to contradict yourself? You want everyone that has zero VP to at least have 1, but then you’re saying keep current VP at zero for non-mana holders.
People with no mana are the ones with no VP. Therefor if they stay at zero, how are you going to give them 1 VP…
Id like to see Decentraland do something like coinbase earn. Where you watch a presentation take a test and are given one mana. In that presentation people would be taught the dao, parcels, wearables and basic ui. Its hard to vote to give everyone one vp because at some point someone could spam or bot attack grants or proposals. I know people would they literally do it for nft raffles. Same point I get what you mean with the whales and that zero vp makes you feel like your voice mean nothing.
1 mana to get 1 VP isn’t a hard ask of someone wanting to get involved. Just buy 1 mana… ?
VP should only be assigned if user has skin in the game.
Can we give everyone that votes 1 VP/Voting Power ?
