Hi, I’m Gino from the DAO Governance Squad. A few weeks ago we launched an update on the Governance dApp that let the users to publish a “Remove POI” proposal. That is a binding category, meaning that as opposed to a Poll, the results are enacted by the DAO Committee after it passed. You can go ahead and make a new proposal using that category linking to this one if you want.
Once the DAO and POI List smart contract were set up the client team started to honor both the centralized list and the smart contract listing. IMO it’s time to deprecate the centralized list.
A soft transition could start by migrating the 90 POIs from the centralized list to the smart contract and ask the client team to stop consuming that list. This way all POIs will continue but new proposals to delete them will work as expected. The problem is this operation will require adding 90 POIs at an estimated gas fee of 200 USD each, totaling ~$18.000 USD expense just to keep old POIs.
A more straightforward path is to stop using the centralized list and remove all 90 POIs at once. Then it will be up to the community/land-owners to start a vote to include them back.
