Problem: DAO has become completely decentralized by a couple whales who most likely printed dollars with the federal reserve central bank money printer to “buy Decentraland”. To make matters worse in addition to voting often against the interests of DCL / for self-interest, a smart contract trickles out Mana to them on top of those bogus grants.
Should the following solution be used:
1 - take Decentraland.org domain name and point at new servers
2 - 1 wallet 1 vote VP system with future possibility of identity solution to turn off this attack vector.
3 - Monetization system replaces in-world grants
4 - Mana 2 is created with smart contract to burn Mana 1.0 for Mana 2.0
5 - Mana 1.0 is eventually crashed after said smart contract expires
6 - Decentraland is saved from tyrannical rule
Are you really proposing to nuke a project that’s been around for almost 7 years with this level of detail and without a deep discussion around the implicates and potential effects with the community first?
Even though I like having lateral thinking ideas for some of the problems we currently face, a proposal should be the outcome of a community discussion and not vice versa.
Anyone who can use block explorer can see all the 500k votes are the same person. When we remove those invalid accounts and count the low VP (the actual gamers) we can see THIS PROPOSAL HAS PASSED. Nobody is fooled. This is not a nuke this is a real path forward to freedom from tyranny and saboteurs. Those only holding mana to steer this boat into an iceberg can sell now. We will begin the hard fork and move toward Mana 2.0. Thanks high VP for your participation but your votes don’t count this time.
