SUMMARY
A proposal to establish a formal Request for Information (RFI) Process for community members to submit questions to DAO officials and obtain relevant information from them about DAO-related matters, offering an opportunity to seek clarification, gain insights, and address specific concerns or topics related to DAO operations and governance.
Creation of such a process will ensure that community questions to DAO officials are publicly logged, prioritized by interest, and answered within a defined time frame.
MOTIVATION
- No single, trackable channel for community questions to DAO officials
Community questions to DAO officials are scattered across the Forum, Discord, and other channels, making it hard to track or locate past answers.
- Unknown or unavailable information prevents informed participation
Key details about DAO operations can be unclear or unpublished, making it difficult for community members to make informed decisions.
- No response or unknown response time
DAO officials have no obligation to answer community members’ questions about specific DAO-related information within a defined period of time, which reduces transparency.
- Proven precedent: DAO - Foundation RFI
DAO has already leveraged a dedicated RFI procedure to question the Decentraland Foundation. Many inquiries have been logged and answered. Mirroring the same process for internal DAO bodies extends a successful, community-trusted process.
