Should the following Tier 2: up to $3,000 USD in MANA, one-time payment grant in the Content Creator category be approved?

Abstract

We have a Twitter page where we make daily videos about upcoming events in Decentraland. The main purpose of this page is to make easier for the everyday user to know more about the current events of the day, with informative short videos about the events details and artist’s background (if any performing). Think of it as the live events list, but with subtitled videos explaining them.

Description

One thing we noticed is that somedays it can get hard to keep track of events! Our goal is to make the event page more digestable for the average user, by visually explaining the activities of the day.

Currently we’re doing at least 3x subtitled videos per day, the next step is doubling that. Our goal is to bring more awareness to the whole community overall.

Specification

If the grant is approved, we will expand further the team to keep covering the entire events page every single day. We still aim to create translated videos to the Brazilian audience and expand to tiktok. We will also invest in paid ads for both pages monthly.

Personnel

My name is Vapo and I create videos by myself. I’ve been working fulltime in metaverse-related content since december 2021, contributing with videos and advertisement in different projects.

My objective is to become a steady source of video news about Decentraland events. I want to continue creating relevant content everyday in multiple platforms to bring new users and keep current players updated as much as possible!

Roadmap and milestones

We aim to post new daily subtitled videos in multiple platforms.

Update: We have reached over 10.000 views in our daily videos with over 100+ published - providing content for anyone who submits an event, and the official @decentraland twitter profile is also following us!

I watched some of your videos but i think a personal message is better then the robotic one, Are you planning on changing that?

Absolutely LOVE the idea of a “a steady source of video news about Decentraland events”, I dreamt about something like this for literally years. Next time you should apply for 6-month funding!

btw, some feedback to your channel / brand. I’m supporting this grant because I’m aligned with the project’s vision and goals but I really think you have room to grow:

  • twitter logo looks bad. I’m not a designer but my recommendation is something 100% visual with no text. Also pride month is over, you can use the normal DCL logo as a base now.
  • please add youtube channel! I’d love to subscribe.
  • video editing looks good, keep it up!
  • twitter content/wording looks good too!
  • consider adding covers to your videos so they don’t all look the same before playing on twitter
  • not a huge fan of the name “DclHighlights”, but maybe you have already established some kind of brand. Consider renaming to one of the following: Decentraland Live Events, Decentraland Today, Decentraland’s Daily, Decentraland Times. (just some ideas)

Looks Exciting! Thrilled that you will switch out the current/old robot voice. Got to admit I am a little jelly of you! I would love to do something like this (psst. I’m a pretty good team member- nothing like promoting yourself on someone’s moment- geesh, sorry about that). Btw I’d like to hear more from the people who voted ‘no’ - why they think it’s a bad proposal or wich points they believe are bad and/or can be improved. I know @Kyllian said before on my first proposal that he hated the robotic voice and I recently made the switch.
