The idea would be that in addition to being issued VP points for some L1 wearables, Lands and names. I think the creators should also get VP for each item they create. When you publish an item you get a certain number of VP. To be fair these are the people active in building a percentage of decentraland. thanks for any comments
Yes, we should get VP for publishing wearables & emotes
Hmm I see the rationale there. But this will mean a structural move away from VP attached to goods owned(land, wearable, names) which has a hard cap, to include services(publishing of wearables and scenes, holding of events?) provided as well.
The implications I can see are:
It’ll reward/encourage people who are already doing it. It may also encourage new people to do so.
It may create a moral hazard where people will abuse the system and create low quality services.
VP will become inflationary for better or worse.
Worth considering both factors i.e the structural move as well as the implications if said moves happen.
My thought is the VP most people have isnt used and those who do use the system should technical have more power. I could see a bunch of users getting VP but not using it. BUt I do understand what you are saying. The ones truly building here should get some. I would say at least 100 VP for a published item, they pay 100 USD and get nothing, but you buy a name for 100 mana and get 100 VP.
you would not be losing any VP for current items owned. the current structure stays and we just add VP for created Items, you dont even need to create an item to get VP for buying a name. Why would pay 100 USD in mana not be a value? its over 1000 mana…but I could spend 1000 mana on names and get 1000 VP, or just hold mana.. keeps things stale
This Yes from me. What we seen through history is that the more voting is usually tie to relevant to tax paid thus making tax a little more just even though it is not. No taxation without representation. Decentrland right now is the exact opposite why voting engagement has tanked not gone up since conception and never recovered because there is no incentive to. Yes I am biased because I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on wearable submission fees. Many good things here can happen but this is a great start @PeterParker420
Creators use MANA to upload their products, when they part with that MANA, they lose VP. The logical thing would be to reward them with VP for dedicating time and resources to building on the platform, this would also incentivize creators to be more active.
I agree this is needed, creators spend a great deal of time to design, develop, and publish wearables and emotes which really contributes to DCL. They’re a huge part of the ecosystem, and it would be of great service to have their voices heard more with additional VP.
