Blockers

Progress on previous blockers

Here’s updates on blockers that we posted last milestone, and how we went about them.

Artists wish to communicate with audience:
We spent more time training & preparing beforehand with our artists to enable them to be in Decentraland while also performing.

For those without a 2nd PC, we travel to their location (around Amsterdam) and help them stream and be present in DCL.

Artists struggle getting friends in party:
While preparing with our artists, we also provide them a PDF to share with friends that quickly explains how to join the party with their own wallet.

DCL Setup PDF

Combined with us helping them individually, they have been much more empowered to share this knowledge with their invites.

Crowdsizes:
We’re still trying to increase our crowdsizes and didn’t achieve an average over 50.

Some next steps we’re taking is to:

  • expand the amount of performances to new artists. These extra performances are not paid (as our budget is are defined) but if artists on the off-days (not Tues/Thurs) do well then we can schedule them for paid shows in the future. The benefit of having more shows will be to “test” other time slots than our standard Tues/Thurs
  • Continue growing our instagram (for attracting attendees to our IRL events)
  • Prepare more marketing material to advertise all events even farther ahead of time.

Next steps

Unrelated to the Grant, we have been working on restarting our previous gift-bag model. For 2 years, we would airdrop custom created music NFTs from artists for those who attend our shows. This was a great way to reward loyal users who keep coming back and an incentive for new comers to party and leave with an NFT.

We had a hiatus because Opensea shut down the legacy NFT tools, and thus our ability to update our previous collection.

Yet we have been working to release a 2nd NFT collection which would again award attendance at our shows. We hope this in combination with marketing steps will increase crowdsizes and encourage new comers to try our shows.

Fun Moments/Highlights

Some fun moments from December:

Grant Spending

Wallets

ETH Multisig |
POLYGON Multisig

Innkeeper.eth receives grant funds as DAI on ETH Mainnet to a Gnosis Safe multisig wallet.

Each grant vesting release cycle, Innkeeper will:

  • Trigger release (withdraw) of DAI from the DCL DAO to our ETH multisig address
  • Trigger sendToL2 using Hop Exchange to convert the ETH DAI to POLYGON DAI and send to the Innkeeper POLYGON multisig wallet.
  • From the POLYGON multisig wallet, distribute funds to the artists and other payments (using minimal gas)

Track our Grant Distributions

The website above tracks the grant distributions in real time to keep an eye how the funds are spent. We spent the first funds on paying back the artists for October & November, and will prioritise them before paying infrastructure and staff costs.
