Collection 'Protean Collection #1' created by Proteus is ready for review!

The extra texture will need to be removed from the file aswell as unplugged from the material

The collection has been assigned to Sango

Hi, I went to Preview in Editor and clicked on the download icon, and checked the file, it only has 2 textures in it.

I found out why there was a 3rd texture by the way, sneaky stuff !
One texture was being indexed internally as both jpg and png

It should work to upload .gltf + .bin + textures, right ?
I tried, but the mesh isn’t identified anymore that way.

@Sango, do you not receive a notifications about my new messages if I don’t use a direct tag ?

Hi friends,
Protean isn’t able to tag Sango anymore, and there are unanswered posts, so I am tagging a few curators on the team here on his behalf in hopes that we can keep his project moving. If there is something else that he needs to do to publish his sword, can someone from the team kindly let him know? He is a new creator in Decentraland and I’m excited to see him continue to create here

Thank you!

Hi! @Canessa

I had an issues and complains from other curators when i was reviewing collections curated by other curators at times, when there were issues, so i think the best way will be to wait for Sango response. I dont recommend other curators to touch this collection for now. I will try to contact with Shibu in our chat, hope that will helps asap.

Sorry @Sango!

Shibu told me that now i can curate this collection, to be respectful, you will be able to take one of my collections next time, with same amount of wearables in it

The collection has been assigned to theankou

Hi @Ozymandias!

  1. Your wearable dont match handwear category, please change category to any other category. If you will change category, you will need to add additional models to match that category, for example, usually, people use earrings category for items in hands, so you will need to add earrings model and represent it as main object on thumbnail.

As i see, flame on sword weight painted to move, if thats not intented, then it should be fixed.
If thats intented then it’s good to go.

Everything else seems good to me.

What about materials and textures, as soon as you will change category, don’t forget to update overrides → wearables list, because, usually, categories here dissappear, when you change wearable category.

Hi @theankou ! Pleasure to do business with you

Yes the flame is weighted to move, it is part of my aspiration to bring more stimulating visual effects to the visitors of DCL, I hope to be able to inspire others to learn to use the geometric techniques I uncovered to ensure that the effects do not get ā€œout of handā€ :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I originally had it as earring as is standard, but was instructed at the start of this review to change it to hands category, which isn’t even actually possible, so I changed it to hands_wear.

I changed it back. Hopefully I didn’t forget anything else !

@Ozymandias, you will need to add earring model, to match category, and represent that earring model as main item on thumbnail

Aye, makes sense.
Nice curve-ball though, the size of the ears are different for body type A and B :smirk:

let me know when you will push updates, thank you!

If we’re going to need earrings, I want them to look nice.
I will be using the CC0 image from https://www.rawpixel.com/image/12851517/pair-sword-grip-ornaments-menuki

okay, sure, i dont see any IP problems here

The ears of the female model are rigged to only the head bone…
But the ears of the male model are rigged to both the head and the neck bones !
That was a nice curve-ball-within-a-curve-ball there

It was a nice exercise in getting a different model for the male and the female versions at any rate.

Ok, should be good now !

you will need to represent earring on thumbnail at the same size as sword, or a bit bigger, because earring in the main object of that category

like that

we are asking for that, because we had several issues with people that complain that it’s unclear what is the main object on thumbnail.

For now it’s not clear that sword comes in hand, people will think that sword is an earring model. thats the problem… Earring should be bigger or the same size as the sword on thumbnail, also earring on thumbnail should look exactly the same like on characters. I recommend you to add two pieces on thumbnail, male version and female version near each other. That way it will be more clear for users.
