Question yourself what rewards are giving those companies that you gave me as example. Most of the examples given here by users like you and others are very strange. Please DYOR.
Is there a difference between LLC and DAO? I’ve seen many people here giving Sandbox, Revv or other companies as example, while the same people can’t make the difference between private owned company and DAO.
Here you want the DAO to sponsor rewards for your or rival games, you as DEVELOPERS have to find a way to make your product sustainable. I’m tired of projects who come here asking money to save their projects.
FARMING IS DEAD and this is not going to save DCL.
Please DYOR, play nfity island give you points to claim their token in the future. Big time give you their token even now by playing. We are trying to build a system rather than a product, and let me make it very clear that the money will come out of DAO fund in a X% monthly, and give that to those who are eligible to claim monthly.
And there migth be an end for this in the future once we get more users.
I dont understand why you brought up the difference between LLC and DAO, I dont see connections with this proposal.
Anyway, i just wanna make it clear to you or anyone that read this proposal to aware the above setup before making your decision, it takes me a lot of time to think and write, and I propose this since i think this is the biggest missing part of DCL.
However, I agree with disagree. If people like to proceed, i will use more time to think of ways to proceed and try to answer or address every concern, if not, totally fine with me.
Anyway I can help too let me know! Down to give Waifumon and Waifumon related stuff as well if helps. You and your team @MetaDogeisme have been working hard all these years building and trying whatever you can grow Decentraland. I seen so many people repping the MetaDoge Waifumon past year and has been great to see. They even made it in that one guys video that was talkin about about Decentraland that has i think 600k views so far lol. “You have my sword, and my bow, and my axe!”
I’m voting against this because it doesn’t align with my values. Good behavior should be done without expecting anything in return. Introducing a point system could create competition, and personally, I think participating in this and racing for the top spot could come across as lacking humility. That’s my take on it.
Agree to disagree, but I personally the motivations for users are complex, most people persue both fun and profits at the same time, I do think this is moral. Plus, the dropping user number proves this point, it is neither fun or profitable to stay within DCL now, now that the foundation and DAO are spending huge money and efforts to improve the fun part, there is need to work on the financial incentives as well. All for the prosperity of DCL.
To build a company that can last for over 100 years, in addition to having a Big Dream, we also need to design a precise incentive mechanism for our employees. I believe that an incentive mechanism is a highly valuable proposition, but the key lies in “precise incentives.” What is precise incentive? It means rewarding those who silently contribute to the DAO and actively participate, to prevent their departure (which, in fact, has already happened), rather than rewarding those who merely draw a fixed salary, lacking passion and innovation. If a platform, despite having substantial financial backing for many years, is still unable to turn a profit, it is a failure and a very unfortunate situation. Therefore, we not only need an effective incentive mechanism but should also abolish the current fixed salary system for working groups, replacing it with an incentive-driven approach. Why should we do this? Because a fixed salary can limit individual imagination and stifle competition. Without pressure, there is no progress. We need to incentivize the entire DAO to attract more capable talents while eliminating those who fail to advance. Only by doing this can we create an organization that continues to thrive. ===“Teamwork makes the dream work”===
Lastly, I want to say this: “No matter how amazing or unbeatable a product is, if you don’t know how to do marketing it or if it’s not marketing at all, it will remain undiscovered until the day it’s found in its grave.”
Exploitation can never be 100% avoided, that apply to every system, but that does not mean there should be no incentive system in DCL. Look how Nifty Island deal with it. There are def some exploitation, but it is controllable.
Plus, there will be counter-measures in place to restrict it. For example, we can give much more points to those who have DCL name to make those pure farmers harder to exploit the system. Will reveal more details in the next stage, if you still dont think its right, feel free to let me know, and cast your vote again then.
I’ll enjoy taking advantage of that so much.
Like the time I logged in 11k users in-world over a few hours because people wanted 1 user = 1 vote with dcl-metrics as source of truth
Finally, we are on the topic. It is a good start. We can come up with some solution together, rather than say no without even thinking.
In your case, just as an example, lets say only those with Name can join, would you spend 1100k USD first to spoil the system? If yes, then do it, you are making huge contribution toDCL by putting your money in. You will deserve the rewards, as long as you have the time to play each account with a decent amount of time. (Which might need a super good computer that add up your cost).
Also, with respect to your knowledge, you do understand all the game companies have to constantly monitor the behaviours of users and make adjustments to the rules, in order to ensure the balance does not break right? Same here, if there are any exploit behaviour, we can respond and make counter actions.
I am supporting an incentive system, as users constitute a major part of the Decentraland, which is what we mainly lack at the moment. Given that the new client 2.0 is expected to launch this year, it is a good time to start discussing more about marketing. Think about the rewards as a part of user acquisition cost that directly goes to players, who will then be likely to spend at the platform. Gaming experience wise, Web3 games are not comparable with Web2 AAA games given that they have spent a lot of money and time to develop big titles. Financial incentive is crucial to players in Web3 games. For the reward system, at platforms like Youtube, creators will receive x amount of money given x views on the content created. This kind of rewards system is effective to incentivize creators and form a budget for them to onboard new users.
I completely agree with this proposal: DCL is positioned as a decentralized platform, a community-driven economic ecosystem. We should consider what key components or participants make up this platform and how the economic system can help these important parts survive and thrive in the game. If these key participants can benefit from the development of the ecosystem, I believe the overall value of DCL will be very high. Players, creators, and voters are essential components of this ecosystem, as are developers. Currently, only developers receive GRANT incentives, while other key participants do not, which does not align with the platform’s positioning and original intent. I suggest that the DAO should consider the entire platform and not just focus on one part.
Well, I gave you enough time to make your own research, and you’re coming back telling me to DYOR. That’s a joke.
All those platforms that you included in your list have THEIR OWN TOKENS, at the same time DCL have its vesting contracts, plus the DAO isn’t a issuer of MANA. I hope you can understand what I’m saying. Again - Sandbox and NiftyIsland are LLCs. Farming is DEAD.
We are DAO that rely on vesting contracts and fees.
I still dont understand why you bringing this statement, why is that matter? Eventually, we just want to use incentives to attract users, and the users dont care if the incentives coming from a LLC or DAO. Farming is not dead as i said, if you need more examples, i can give you more… I am not saying farming is the ultimate things we ask people to do, but it is a very useful way to get users, its like Marketing budget, or you think marketing is not ok as well?
