It is a big risk for the DAO to fund grants for up to 6 months at a time without seeing any proof of concept of how the funding will be used. Should all grant requests prove the value they can bring to community by having a 1 month trial funded before a larger request?
I argued several times that projects should go through different financing rounds incrementaly, starting smaller, something that is common in funding. I think 1 month is too small timebox to start, 3 months would be fine for a first check, but I would also limit the amount, maybe to like $30 000 max ($10 000 per month), then implement a renewal process for those projects that will have the option to renew and go for bigger quantities.
For now Iβm going to vote YES here but I expect more refinement on next draft.
The trial could be 1-3 months and have a limited monthly budget. I would appreciate if the community can share their opinions in the comments of how many months and what budget a trial grant should be.
