Update Status: On Time
Project Health: On Track
Introduction
Welcome to the secondgrant update. This team has the primary goal of developing an explorer version using two different technologies:
- Bevy targeting to Desktop: featuring experimental and developer features to enhance the creator’s possibilities
- Godot targeting to Mobile and VR: pointing to have a reliable and production-ready explorer.
Highlights
Bevy (Desktop)
Since the last report, we’ve implemented scene permissions and action reporting about how the scene is doing or trying to do something. Now, the user can deny some actions in advance and set up their client with the preferred configuration.
Regarding the experimental features, we’ve been working on presenting the Scroll for scenes UIs. This will be available to experiment in the next few days, and we’re adding a welcome message to redirect to scene examples for experimentation.
Godot: Mobile and VR
We were able to unblock the Livekit issue, and now the build works fine for iOS, Android, and Windows. We’ve also been working on improving memory management and disk usage, which enables us to approach a more stable client.
Blockers
No blockers this time.
Next steps
Godot
We intends to make a release soon on both mobile target, and it’ll be available to access by the stores, you can find the list item in our landing https://dclexplorer.com
Bevy
We’ve moved the GLTF internal access for scenes, and we’re already tackling it due to it’s a very requested feature and empower all the creations.
