Yes, but before that submission fees were 500 MANA flat rate. I myself submitted wearables at this price before the proposal to peg it to USD passed. That’s why I suggest maybe we should look at how that affected before introducing another reduction to the fees.
Also, Saus hit the nail on the head with his comment.
Alright im def going to check this out but still think it has a solid reason to keep this proposal up because there is many people wanting it, I proposed this due to a discussion on the DAO dc
While I totally understand that reducing or removing publication fee is a preferred option from a creator perspective, i belive DAO needs funds to keep on with developments, improvements, events, partnership and so on in order to keep the whole DCL project running and evolving over time.
Moreover a live and evolving DCL is a win win both for DAO and creators.
I think the question may be: is this the best timing to reduce wearables fee?
I agree with Saus point of view here, and i think lowering fee now may not be very beneficial for development with the current market condition.
Sannin is correct, originally fee was 500 mana, than lowered to 100 mana and then 150$ > in mana.
Hey @fabeeobreen I think if we lower the fee more people are able to publish a wearable and its more likely to have more creators publish their wearable therefore more money coming in smaller amounts.
This proposal is missing 15 USD to supporting catalyst servers.
But besides that I don’t support lowering submission fees anyways, I think we would end up in a vicious cycle where we keep lowering the submission fees and prices of wearables keep going down until they are worthless.
I voted no, even though I want this to get to the next stage (and it will because it met vp threshold)
What is missing is more data.
@InJesterr in the next stage you need to have input from more of the people this will affect. When active curators and creators gave their opinions, they brought up some excellent points.
I would like to see more data from the last time the amount was changed, and you really need to break it down. Why is $100 the best amount? Why not $125? Why not $50? How did you arrive at that cost, and why is that amount the best for the DAO?
I want to support lowering the cost, but even though that’s what I “want”, I need to see data or it’s just a decision based on feelings, not facts. Thank you!
Hey @Canessa I just proposed this as a poll, to see if the general idea of lowering it to 100$ is even something the community is interested in, In the next stage (Draft) I will include the requested dat in the next stage, Thanks for your feedback
Congratulations, @InJesterr, and to the community! By making this more affordable and reducing the entry barrier, we can inspire and attract more creators. I’m all for it!
Thanks for tagging me @Canessa but I just missed this due date! Oh my!!!
Personally I believe there’s room to drop the publishing fee to $50-$60, with traffic so low it would be more beneficial to onboard creators with lower overhead costs. The curation committee will be scaling u and having something like $10 per wearable reviewed and the $40 back to DAO would actually make it so much more accessible. @InJesterr I recommend even run another poll before going to the next stage with a few price options: eg. $100 ($40/$60 DAO), $50 ($10/$40DAO) and $30 ($10/$20DAO)?
Would love to discuss this in the next Community Discussion on twitter spaces! Feel free to hmu if there’s any further community discussions of forums to share ideas~
What you can do that I’ve done in the past for curator decisions or proposals, you can create the second poll seperate and wait for the results then use that in your draft as a reference as to why the price was decided. I think this will not only support your next round but also justify WHY that price point was chosen.
Super happy to discuss!
Just adding on, I even wonder if the DAO should be getting such a big cut. Yes it’s good to boost DAO value but atm creators cant carry the weight of the grant system and economy, especially when most creators/publishers and brands are entering on a loss~
So pricing could be $100 ($50/$50 DAO), $50 ($20/$30 DAO) or $30 ($10/ $20 DAO) ?
