PunkPink - DAO Council Postulation

Professional Experience Overview

I own and lead a lighting company, having own domestic manufacturing, and also in Guangzhou and Guzhen, I have created and managed multiple physical stores in Spain and online sales in five other countries of the EU, I have also undertaken several Web2 projects since 2008 and invested in cryptocurrencies since 2015, acquiring a general knowledge of Web3 and the underlying technology of this industry.

My more than 15 years of business experience enable me, among other aspects, to optimize resources and strategically improve products to maximize their competitiveness and commercial appeal, an element that can play a key role in helping Decentraland capture the attention and interest of the general public.

Vision

I see 2 facets to Decentraland, one as a social center and one as a gaming hub . Whether you want to meet people or spend the afternoon playing, Decentraland should be that place.

At the same time I would like a Decentraland that does not depend on the sale of MANA to exist, since we can have multiple sustainable revenue streams that allow a constant flow of income that enables us to boost the platform to a higher level.

So far, resources have not been directed in a focused manner to achieve the platform’s objectives, nor has there been adequate coordination between the DAO and the Foundation, the proof is that despite the enormous expense that the DAO has had, many issues we have had to present to Canny, many times without resolution, I think it is very important to immediately resolve errors once they are reported by the community and it is necessary to apply an effective procedure for this to happen.

It is also necessary to support high-value developers and creators who have shown commitment and have continued working on the platform, even during the bear market. These people have shown great passion and it is extremely important to reward their work and dedication in the future so that they continue to improve the ecosystem.

I am firmly convinced that Decentraland can be economically sustainable (without depending on the sale of MANA) in 2-3 years and be widely popular in 5-6 years, as long as we take advantage of this structural change to direct energy to clear goals.

Below is a post I made with some thoughts on the future of our platform: Brief thoughts for the future of Decentraland

Understanding and Commitment

Over the past 2 years I have not only been an active voter of the DAO, but I have also been a creator and player, fully involving myself in the dynamics of the platform and its community. This has allowed me to gain in-depth knowledge of its operation, technology, structure, financial health and other vital points, giving me a global vision of the entire project.

I have contributed by driving community initiatives, strengthen the Decentraland brand on social media, and made collaborations with other members of the community. I have also had the great opportunity to attend Community and DAO Summits, which has allowed me to meet people with whom I have created important links.

At the same time, my commitment is based on two central pillars: firstly, the strong values that Decentraland embodies, which represent me greatly, in addition to the strong belief that I have that we have the foundations to be a leader in the industry.

I believe that we are building something beautiful and great, and I will be delighted to contribute all my knowledge and dedication to something that I truly believe in, so that it becomes part of my life and I become part of it.

If elected, I pledge to dedicate the necessary time, bringing my knowledge and experience to bear in order to defend the interests of Decentraland, prioritizing long-term growth, and above all striving to protect the principles of freedom, decentralization, transparency, and a platform shaped by its community.

Additional Details

In my business career I have faced sustainability challenges similar to those currently facing Decentraland, successfully overcoming, among others, 2 major global crises that damaged the financial health of my businesses.

At 19 years old, I experienced the moment of taking the reins of the company on the verge of bankruptcy during the subprime mortgage crisis (2008), successfully restoring its financial health and achieving growth.

In 2020, due to COVID, there were major collapses in maritime freight, which once again put my business in a difficult situation to solve, however I was able to reverse the situation by acquiring large national stock batches before an inflationary scenario unfolded, obtaining a large amount of supplies at a cost well below the usual one and positioning my company in a highly advantageous position.

Taking part in the Council will be an honour and an opportunity that will allow me to provide strategic solutions, based on years of experience successfully facing and overcoming business crises.

Thank you.
