[DAO:a779859] Should we restructure the way our DAO operates?

I would like to apologize to Unknower, and Canessa and even the community. Emotions are running high as I’ve watched so many leave the platform. None of which is your fault and I know you guys care too. From the first time I jumped into Decentraland I fell in love even though nothing much was here I saw a vision of web3 and a place people could build do art, create and be seen from people all around the world. In a centralized world I had no hope at all. I would have to work at a low paying job like I had for 20 yrs and still unable to make ends meet after losing my husband in car accident and raising my sons on my own. With crypto, web3 and Decentraland I found hope, I found a future, and a mindset that maybe someday I can own my own house. That was in 2011when my son read me the first article about bitcoin. Today I own my own house and am optimistic about the future. Here people get chances to do something great to build and create and be seen from others around the world. I guess I’m scared that centralizing things will cause more gate keeping and only those creators that are favored will get a chance at grants to build. So I am truly sorry and I hope these changes are for the better. I feel really terrible.

Why do you all keep saying that I received funds for my projects? The DAO has spent $14 million on over 220 projects, with many receiving over $240K and barely accomplishing anything. I was working on things before I received any grants, and I even spent my own money on them. It’s not just me; many others feel the same way and are witnessing this corrupt shift where a group of friends is turning the DAO into something centralized. The issue is that people like you are being paid for moderation and other tasks (essentially getting salaries and free trips), while the core units and high VP holders are manipulating you to do their bidding. So please stop making things up—everyone can see what’s happening. Also, I haven’t read your long messages yet; I’ll reply at some point.

Because you have?

Why don’t you focus on not deflecting and addressing things head-on like an adult sometimes?

You trying to call other people pets or accuse them of being favored by people in positions of power while you yourself have personally be gifted well over $100k from the dao treasury with the help of your whale friends is insane.

You have no sense of personal accountability or an ounce of self-awareness.

You are a living example of why everyone thinks the DAO grant program is a failure and that change is needed.

I’m going to step in and say I have personally bumped heads with @MetaRyuk in the past, solely acting on baseless rumors. I remember saying he was part of the RobL DAO Drainer group one late night after the drainers passed a really bad grant. Despite that he still spoke to me with respect and dignity. After having the chance to speak with MetaRyuk, hearing him speak on panels and observing his actions on top of that. I came to realize that I was completely wrong for saying that

I am someone that will always admit their wrong when proven wrong, So I will take this opportunity to Publicly apologize to MetaRyuk. I am sorry for saying that, I was frustrated and it was completely uncalled for. I now understand I bit better why you are here, and it is for your passion in Decentralization / DAOs and being a pioneer in working towards a better model so that the world can see Decentralization the way you see it.

once again I apologize for my hurtful words that night. You are doing a great job, and lets continue working towards a better future for the Decentraland DAO :muscle:

To be fair, he did rent land from RobL and spent days, if not weeks, defending RobL and insisting that doxing and attempting to intimidate me wasn’t “threatening.”

So I wouldn’t go as far as to say you were “completely wrong,” as there are certainly valid reasons to question Ryuk’s intellectual honesty and relationship with RobL

You just highlighted an issue that was highly discussed during the summit and indirectly strengthened the fact on why the DAO is needed to be restructured to ensure money are spent properly to ensure long term sustainability and to have accountability. And saying that core units are manipulating me to do their bidding is an insult and a very bad assumption. Don’t blame me or others for participating in the summit just because you didn’t take that opportunity which you could have.
