Hello Decentraland Community,

I’m excited to submit my application for the Decentraland DAO Council. With my experience within the Decentraland Foundation and as an engaged community member, I’m dedicated to bringing my focus on social media and community building to the Council.

While other Council members will bring expertise in areas like finance, technology, and strategy, my core strength is in driving visibility, engagement, and growth within the community. Decentraland’s success depends on building strong relationships with creators, users, and developers, and I’m excited to highlight the incredible work already being done through content creation and social media.

Vision

The Council has a critical role in shaping Decentraland’s future and I think it is essential to prioritize the community in this vision. My experience in social media and community management will be key to increasing visibility for projects and initiatives, while also bringing new creators into the platform. By highlighting what’s happening within Decentraland, we can attract more talent and grow the ecosystem.

Though my primary focus will be community and content creation, I understand the importance of collaborating with my fellow Council members. Their expertise in finance, technology, and strategic management will be very valuable to shaping Decentraland’s future. I am committed to working together to ensure that community needs are aligned with bigger goals ensuring the DAO’s growth and sustainability.

The success of the Council will depend on how transparent and engaged we are with the community. I envision regular updates, town halls, and open conversations to keep everyone informed.

Why I am a strong candidate

I have experience in Decentraland as a content creator, community builder, and DAO participant and that gives me a unique perspective on community needs. Also I am passionate about Decentraland’s potential and committed to helping it succeed.

Thank you for considering my application!

Cheers,
Peanutbutta

PB has a history of using his positions at the foundation to retaliate against people he doesn’t like or has personal issues with.

I do not believe a person incapable of acting professionally in smaller roles, like Community Manager or Social Media manager, should be given more power to wield within the community.

Loves me some Peanutbutta!

Hello @Peanutbutta, I have had positive interactions with you however I am not sure the position is the best for you at this time. Instead of rising as a leader when others have challenged you, it seems that you just go away. I haven’t seen much of you in the DAO Discord and am not really sure how you have contributed to your current role.
It is nothing personal, I believe you are a lovely person, but my vote is NO.
Take care,
Jenn

Hey Jenn, just to clarify j have not worked for the Decentraland Foundation for roughly a year now. My current position is 100% freelance. I am one of the few people who have left the Foundation and have still continuously contributed to Decentraland.

Although i have not been as active in the daily community i have still been very much in tune with what has been going on.

In the past year ive helped edit most all of the tutorial videos on the Foundation youtube, make promotional content for Music Fest and other campaigns, as well as made tons of short videos the Foundation is using for paid advertising.

Thank you, kindly sir, for the reply, I have no doubt that your contributions are valuable. My only thought is really around whether this role is best suited for you based on the job description. I know you will continue to contribute, and I am sure you will continue to grow and look forward to what you do in the future.
All the best,
Jenn

Hi Peanutbutta! You are like a DCL celebrity to me. I am only voting no because I have maybe only see you in the platform a handful of times. I think it’s important for people in the council to have an intrinsic feel for how things have played out in Decentraland over the last year, so that we can understand what is missing, what isn’t working, and the best path forward. I may still change my vote and I learn more from these threads and our meeting with Toxic and others. It would be great if we could have several town halls before we decide on a council, with camera’s on, so we can discuss everything.
