Am I going to need to move this thread back to Governance
?
Are you really trying to state there hasn’t been a really serious issue going on for over a week ?
A Garbage-Collector that may possibly be over-zealous is a prime suspect in this case.
@HPrivakos @paralax please be aware that this is at the heart of my biggest complaint of all.
This is no doubt a big reason why DCL is such a ghost town at the moment.
The debacles from e.g. the dev team pushing an update breaking the SDK right before the Tominoya Halloween event is exactly the kind of thing which makes scene developers run away, instead of being the ones left looking bad, and barely anyone is left to create the truly interesting interactive experiences which should have been propped up all over the map by now !
The issue we are facing here is quite simple.
There are a number of rather crippling ongoing issues. The latest one being…
we can’t chat with half our friends during DCL live events !!
@Ozymandias Once again, I’m having trouble understanding the issue you’re raising. Complaining about various topics and debating whether this is a governance issue seems off-track. From the comments you’ve made about the Catalyst, it appears that there’s been a misunderstanding on your part regarding its behavior.
The communications issue you mentioned earlier has already been reported and is under investigation. It seems to be isolated to a single scene, possibly caused by how the scene’s code handles communication with WebSocket or WebRTC backends dedicated to the scene experience. This is not a general Decentraland issue.
The low number of users is a broader topic with many contributing factors, and it requires a wider discussion.
Regarding the SDK bug you mentioned, I’m not familiar with it, but it seems to be a specific issue.
As for the new chat issue you’ve brought up, is it related to the previous problem where players couldn’t see each other? What are the steps to reproduce it? Is it happening in a specific scene? If you contact the support team, it could be able to provide better help for you.
